So, what is Edwards going to do?
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 09:06 PM by pirhana
Biden went back to being Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Dodd - back to Senate.
Richardson can go back to being guv . . . (and hopefully Senator from NM).

What do you think Edwards will do IF he doesn't make a comeback?

2. I hope, if he fails, he is seriously considered for AG.
I could almost stand for any administration wise enough to offer him that position.

5. I think there's a good chance of another Edwards VP run
I've said before that Edwards wouldn't do this, but now I think it would be a smart move for him and for the nominee (assuming he doesn't win).

6. Well, I don't think the primaries are over today. Don't they go on for months?
I think Edwards will stay.

When Edwards began campaigning (with almost no money, mind you), he had only a small amt of support.... his numbers JUMPED. Sure, he's outfunded by Obama + Oprah and H. Clinton + Bill. However, his numbers jumped. Even here on DU, people began switching to him. He's the ONLY ONE that is telling the truth about the way things are in the U.S.

I'm convinced that slowly, his numbers will continue to jump.

17. Sometimes a fire takes a while to get started.
Some more dry kindling and steady attention. Give it some time. Like buyer's remorse with Obama, folks may decide they don't want Clinton either. Two sides of the same corporate coin. Then it's Edwards' time. :)

21. Exactly. And I've never heard of primaries that last a total of 2 days. ;-)
It's clear tho, that corporations are scared of him because he's the only one telling the complete truth about them. :-)

7. He needs to keep going!!
He needs to let all the states have a chance to see him and hear his message. What he says is so worthy that I can't even believe he'd bow out too soon. Hopefully his donors will stick with him for several more states. He's not my first choice, but I'd be absolutely heartbroken if he packs it in too soon. Bill Clinton lost Iowa and NH.

He's going to stay in and bring THE PEOPLE'S issues to the forefront in this country. I fail to see how that is a bad thing.

25. He needs to stay in the race to PUSH the other candidates!
If Edwards bows out you can be sure the Obama/Clinton message will have a less progressive quality over time.

That's why we NEED Edwards to stay in even if it's somewhat of a long shot. And then yes, VP or some other appropriate cabinet level position is an option.

28. Don't count those chickens, this will go on to the finish. And
Edwards is not down and out by any means! He's just getting warmed up! Keep things in perspective, this is afterall, a three way race. I'm not giving up on John & he's not giving up on us.

Stop playing the media's games!
