NO ONE can make valid claims as to how the rest of the country will vote (esp. on Super Tuesday).

1. "that are about 95% white" - yet with different results, so what is the point?

3. Exactly the point. No comparisons can be made.
NH is more business, high-tech. Iowa is more rural, agricultural.

What about Florida? Michigan? California? Illinois?

No one should drop out and no one is really a front-runner.

4. You're right. And Nevada & South Carolina next, just as different...
Folks here have to remember it is still a race.

5. I expect the GOP to perform strongly in S.C. (Christian Dominionist home)
Nevada...maybe turn for Obama? Typically younger voters? No idea of the demographics in those.

6. Sure they matter. They're citizens, too.
If you don't get the result you want, change how you do things. Iowa and New Hampshire have always been Iowa and New Hampshire.

As long as the people's voice is truly heard, and there is no shenanigans, it should be good. California and New York and Florida do not represent the rest of the nation, either -- and yet, they matter.

Keep your head up.

7. I didn't say Iowa or NH don't matter. I'm saying those saying "It's over for Candidate ___" ....
are being too reactionary.

9. Correct!
It's going to be a grueling battle for the top two, tonight's results are hardly a mandate.

8. The primary season is less like the football playoffs
than like a decathalon.

You can be good at one event, bad at three, good at two others, etc and the result may not be determined until the last event is over.

I'll listen for the fat lady in several weeks.
