lol. I say that facetiously. I thought that stupid mother f***ing pig, Gibson was going to have a cow when Edwards started rattling off company names that "HADN'T BEEN APPROVED by ABC's advertisers". too f'ing funny.

11. Nearly all advertisements have songs that were not written for the ad.

Few people had ever heard of Moby a few years ago, and then one at a time, he licensed each of his songs to different advertising campaigns around the world.

Chevy's rental of that particular song is tacky since they advertise a truck built in Mexico (if I recall correctly) while singing about our country.

Some songs work, some don't. When Coke started advertising their Coke Zero product, they licensed "I Want to Break Free" by Queen, a song from 1984. It worked very well 20 years later for their product. I don't think the Mellencamp song works for the Chevy ads because of the product they are showing while it plays.
