Chris Matthews: Obama's Speech Made Me Cry
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 01:29 AM by antiimperialist
On today's "Morning Joe" on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist hosted Chris Matthews. As they discussed, and individually gushed over, Barack Obama's concession speech last night, Joe said, "If anybody in America has heard a better speech in modern American political history, please email me."

A visibly moved, sentimental Chris Matthews then chimed in with his account of an Obama speech he attended days before: "It was the best speech I've ever heard. ... And I'm tearing up, and I'm writing down notes, and I'm trying to keep track of this thing. ... His heart must've been broken last night." It appears Chris' was as well.

5. Actually, that is probably one of the few things that Matthews may be
sincere about.

Those speeches are excellent.

One day, you'll read about them in the history books.

The State of the Nation Addresses will be especially excellent! Can't wait!

21. and......
Am I supposed to decide who to vote for based on Chris Matthews level of hate or my own research?

But keep trying, I'm sure that you'll swing one or two votes gullible votes your way.

26. yeah, change the subject
you tried to make the point that Matthews was sincere, and now that you are reminded that he is a Hillary-hating phony who would say anything to hurt her you don't care about it?

22. No kidding, they all talked about it
in terms we just don't hear. Even Joe Scarborough kept calling the speech after the loss the best political speech ever made.He got goosebumps, not wet eyes.
Tom Brokaw talked that way.
Those who went to an Obama event and didn't talk much about their own reaction talked in awe about the crowds reaction and never having seen anything like it.

If it was hate talk or fearmongering it would be disgusting but such responses to a hopeful message is a fine thing to have.

12. The right wing is setting us up for a fall.
The left YET AGAIN can't see what is happening. All of this love towards Obama and hate towards Hillary and now Edwards should be a clue.

11. After last nights network performances the following is my
suggestion:

They should fire:

Chris Matthews (who looked like he was going to tear up and did whereas HRC didn't)
Tim Russert (who went pale and looked like the ghost of Fred Thompson – Is he still alive?)
Andrea Mitchell (who looked like she had a bad hangover, hic’)
The black guy who was on MSNBC (who was clearly upset and needed a doobie)
Joe Scarborough who started his “misogynist” conspiracy theories – pitiful

They should keep:

Keith Olbermann, who I could not tell who he was for, even though we all know he is a leftie.
Mika Brezinski, she seems neutral most of the time;
