What keeps Edwards in the game? He is a natural when it comes to
Resolve and Courage.........

Courage to admit, in plain spoke words, his short comings and his failures.

Courage to admit, his tough lessons.

Courage to be touched by a realization, and act on it.

Courage of his convictions at a time when parsing and dancing with words catches the ear of the voter over plain spoken convictions.

Courage to own and not give up the need to speak for the working class and the jobless, the union movement and the uninsured.

Courage to not back down or to give up while in the throws of the most historic primary season....ever.

Courage to continue to hammer his message even while the press and the pundits give him as little as possible.

Courage to call it as it really is......that it is the insurance and oil lobbies will not give up their strangle hold on this country and that it will take a fighter to get health care.

Courage to not shrink from his roots, and to carry on his back all of the people who have gone before him....and adding more and more along the way each and every day, in each and every State.

Courage to draw on an endless amount of energy and fortitude.

John Edwards has evolved into a passionate, aware, and focused leader who has just the right qualities needed at this time in our history.

I have written over and over....that if he is able to win the nomination..during this most historic primary....then he will have more than proven his ability to fight....not for himself but for us.

1. His attacks against Clinton were too much for me.
I forgave him after the first attacks. He changed tactics, because it did not work for him. There was backlash after that attack-debate. But recently, when he attacked Clinton so personally, it really turned me off. He was my second, choice. Not anymore.

3. My friend, it take courage to call it as you see it, and we are so soft as a country that we
are more comfortable with language and views that reflect the pop culture of our daily lives.

Politics is a war, and that means battle, and battle means weapons, and in debate words are weapons.

Haven't you ever heard the old saying NICE GUYS FINISH LAST??????

What in the hell do you think that means??????

Nice guys have brought us Roberts and Alito........and nice guys have failed to bring us health care.

Come on Emerald....give me some meat.

5. He picked the wrong target. He should save his anger and his
muscle for the Republicans. For him to suggest that she has no conscience is going too far.

1. It is not true--no conscience? Who has no conscience? Murderers, rapists, Ted Bundy.
2. It had nothing to do with issues or politics. It was a last grasp attempt at winning.
3. He showed his true character. When on the ropes, go below the belt. He stuck it to a fellow democrat not considering any consequence other than it may help him get to the white house.

I am one tough fighter. YOu have no idea. But, I also know when to pick my battles. Edwards chose the wrong target.

6. If that is the worst he can say....get real.......and Edwards has 20 years of fighting the
fat cats.....let's talk when this is over.

What...you expect him to stand there and let her trample on his integrity by suggesting he is an opportunist?

What kind of a man would nod his head and hang it in shame just because the great Hillary says so??????

Then you might have called him a pussy ....I'm on to you.....

9. No I expect him to do what she does. Talk about the issues.
I expect him to behave like a candidate / not like a petulent sore looser. I will not support him.

Amd, your straw man won't work. The alternative to attacking Clinton personally, is not to "hang his head in shame" It is to discuss the issues.

And, frankly, I enjoy talking about the issues, but I do not appreciate your rude attitude. We can discuss issues without your personal comments.

Get real your damn self...and I AM on to you.

He was ugly at the debate and ugly after. And if ANYONE is the status quo, it is the white male on the stage who took millions from lobbyists as he sits there and tells the world She has not conscience.

13. HELLO ARE YOU AWAKE AND BREATHING....we are loosers...we don't have health care.
She attacked him and he responded. I would expect him to do no less.

16. What was personal??? "I'm on to you" is personal???? It's personal to me that the likes
of you need to defend Hillary....over people who have lost a daughter because of health care insurance malfeasance.

20. That is also BS. She was not attacking a family who lost their child
Edwards touts change. He was asked what he has done to make change when the had the opportunity. And he said he created that bill. And Clinton said--wait--there WAS NO CHANGE. The bill did not pass, the girl died.

He was attacking Clinton as someone who will not make change. And she pointed out that, despite his rhetoric--he is the one who did not make change.

And he countered with a personal attack. Not just any personal attack, but an attack stating that she has no conscience.

She was talking the issues, and won. And he counted with a personal attack.

I will not support Edwards.

14. The top candidates have gotten MORE MONEY FROM THE HEALTH INSURANCE LOBBY
than Edwards earned from Hedge Funds.

And as far as I know, Hedge Funds haven't kept us from getting health care.

Where is your outrage???? Are you concerned?

23. I guess it's better to get money for your campaign
from Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Citgroup. I'm sure that these members of the oligarchy won't have any influence on Obama's policies as president :sarcasm: Give me a break!

12. Let me see if I have this right. You are more concerned about what Edwards said
about Hillary....rather that the injustice and loss of people whose daughter died because CIGNA wouldn't approve her liver transplant.

Hillary's feelings are more important???????

What Edwards said about Hillary got your attention more than what he said about those people???

Oh, man....no wonder we don't have health care when folks like you defend politicians over regular people.

21. It isn't easy for him
When he brings up the facts, or points out problems with the other two, he gets called a "sexist" by the Hillary camp, and a "racist" by the Obama camp. Now they can go after him all the want withoug being stuck with some stupid label. Could it that "reverse" descrimination?

It takes guts to point out the things he has, and yet all he gets is trashed by the media, and the supporters of the other two. This is one reason I like Edwards, he does tell it like it is.

7. yikes and people say Obama supporters
are carried away by adulation. I'd never write anything so adoring about any candidate or even my own Senators, who I really admire.

And is it courage or political posturing? How is one ever to know?
