Interesting conspiracy theory
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 09:39 AM by LuckyTheDog
I have a friend who has an interesting conspiracy theory. He thinks it is likely that the Republican nominee will be forced to accept Jeb Bush as his running mate. In this scenario, the GOP pulls all the election-shifting stunts they pulled in 2000 and 2004 in order to narrowly “win” the election.

Shortly thereafter, “al Qaeda terrorists” would kill the president, allowing Jeb to justify a war on Iran and Syria and a crackdown on “subversives” here at home.

I am not saying the scenario is likely. And I am not predicting that it will come to pass. But the Bushes seem capable of anything. So, who knows? It makes for a good conspiracy theory.

Comments?

2. LOL
I guess there is no end to what some people can dream up.

That's not even a conspiracy theory -- it's just an idea for a novel or something.

3. Well yes it is a conspiracy theory but I think it not wise to be at the top of such a ticket
I think McCain may have signed on to a deal though.

4. It's almost fanfic
interesting idea. I like the one where the election ends up being between Rice and Clinton

(either way is good for the GOP)

12. Well, here is the thinking
The person I am referring to thinks (and I think this is a justifiable suspicion) that it is not a coincidence that the family of John W. Hinckley Jr. (who shot Reagan) is chummy with the Bush family.

If it is plausible that Bush Sr. was involved in an attempt on Reagan's life, then what's to say they would not try the same kind of power play again?

6. Nothing surprises me about the Bush thugs- nothing. In fact...
It would not be a surprise if as part of the "Deal" they made with McCain (why else would he become a Bush fan after they swiftboated his family so disgustingly). They must have promised him something for a man like McCain (I'm not a fan of McCain's politics but I do respect his integrity) to want to even stay in the same party given how horrible they treated him. Perhaps the deal was that if he stuck with them in 04, they'd give him the crown in 08 (which we know they can do as demonstrated by every "election" since 2000 thanks to Diebold and the rest of the electronic machine companies, disenfranchisement,ID cards, lowering the number of new citizen voters, etc.) provided he then puts in Jeb as VP. This way, if McCain is unable to complete his 1st or second term (he is, after all, 71), Jeb will be waiting in the winds to take his place on the throne. Nice, neat simple way for them to remain in control for another 8 years or more. Just a theory of course-- but certainly possible.

14. There are a number of us here at the DU that have posted Jeb could be the VP.
He brings Florida and a lot of big, dirty money and organization. I am not saying it will happen, but I have my eyes wide open that possibility. It protect the Bush Crime Family.
