IN 1992, Mario Cuomo was so close to running for President that a plane sat waiting on the tarmac
to take him to New Hampshire so he could enter the Primary. It was never clear why he didn't run. It was widely speculated that somewhere someone in his family had been involved with something unsavory, and that there was a threat by a third party to reveal this is Cuomo entered the race. Remember, this was shortly after Geraldine Ferraro's husband had been accused of Mob ties during her run for Vice President. (Frankly, if you get involved in commercial real estate in New York, I have to believe that sooner or later you'll run up against some unsavory people even if you yourself are completely Innocent.)

So today, Andrew Cuomo puts his foot in his mouth big time while ostensibly supporting Hillary CLinton.

Hmmmmmm.......

5. Here you go:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0108/Dept_of_word_choice.html

”It’s not a TV-crazed race. Frankly you can’t buy your way into it,” Cuomo said. “You can’t shuck and jive at a press conference,” he added. “All those moves you can make with the press don’t work when you’re in someone’s living room.”

12. My point is that revenge is indeed a dish best served cold.
Maybe Andrew just stuck his foot in his mouth

Maybe Mario stayed in New York in 1992 to get the State budget passed

but

Maybe someone with Clinton connections made sure Mario stayed out of the race in 1992

Maybe Andrew's words weren't as careless as they appear.

With friends ike Andrew, Hillary doesn't need any enemies!

FWIW - the phrase "shuck and jive" is not commonly used by New Yorkers!

9. I was JUST thinking about him. I think he is one of the best
spokesmen ever for the party. I was just thinking how
if I was a candidate - I'd pay him millions just to
write a speech for me.

What is he doing now? Do you know?

15. Personally, I think that had Cuomo run, he'd have won, and been a better prez than Clinton
Although none of them are perfect -- I have a critique regarding daddy Cuomo on political correctness on the 'shuck & jive' thread (Jefferson Democrat OPer)
