Nebraska Legislature: Bill would allow voters to register on Election Day

LINCOLN - Nebraska would join Iowa and New Hampshire in allowing voters to register on Election Day, under a legislative proposal introduced Thursday by State Sen. Ray Aguilar of Grand Island. Aguilar said a University of Nebraska-Lincoln student asked him to consider introducing the bill because it is students who often are unable to vote after missing the usual voter registration deadlines. Aguilar's bill, LB 803, would allow same-day registration only for general elections, not for primaries, to save costs.

2. That would probably boost Dem turnout

we could get 5% instead of 4%!

I felt guilty about moving from NE - I thought it was unfair to the other five Deomcrats.

Kidding of course - NE, and especially the two big towns, are much more balanced politically than people think, but it's still a pretty reddish purple all told.
