It will be a delight when Hillary is running against Bloomberg, Nader and a Republican. What harm could another Republican victory do? We can just try again in 2012!

42. That's exactly why they want her to get the nomination...
Because they know she is so hated, she would bring out the votes for whomever gets the Republican nomination.

When the Democrats took over Congress, and all the DLC'ers conspired to hog the leadership, they made a point of excluding Kerry.

18. Look, how can you claim Hillary is NOT an establishment candidate...
...when Bill Clinton, popular two-term ex-president, is standing behind her at every stump speech?

An ex-president will always be more mainstream, and yes, "establishment" than some Senator who ran for the office and lost.

20. Last time I looked
The Establishment was George W. Bush and his ilk.

If you are claiming that Bill Clinton is the establishment leader of the Democratic Party --you would be even more wrong.
His day in the sun was 8 years ago --and even then many in the Democratic establishment joined in the feeding frenzy to tear him down.
A fine tradition still carried out right here on DU.

Seems more likely to me that there is a concerted effort to paint Hillary as the Establishment candidate at the same time she is being torn to shreds.

If anything the Democratic Party's Establishment candidate is Obama (he of the 2004 keynote address recently annointed by John Kerry)

52. I have no idea..
who the 'loop' is. It is way more than an administration. I do not believe anyone gets anywhere close to the White House....without having serious backing by those who are 'the loop'. I can not imagine that anyone intricately aware of the goings-on of our government in world and national affairs ever retreats from 'the loop'. Why would they?

the nomination of that person to be a catalyst to get out right-wing vote, then we dems should not nominate that candidate so that the right wing will not get out their vote. Now there is democracy at work! NOT!
