Endorsements are nice.

But ask Howard Dean how it helps out. He had the biggest endorsement of them all in 2004, when Vice President Al Gore endorsed him. John Kerry went onto be the nominee, and not Dean.

Obviously, endorsements mean two things. First, you get positive media attention. Secondly, you get more high profile people on your side and standing up for you.

But does John Kerry's endorsement change anything? Nope.

I'm definitely very supportive of John Kerry, and planned on supporting him in 2008 again before he decided against running.

But I still believe John Edwards is the best candidate for this country, and Obama is still my second choice.

Just like I saw many Clark Democrats supporting Obama and others after his endorsement of Clinton, they matter...but not to us...

4. Hey, saracat. We all respect his endorsement, but it simply doesn't change anything.
Senator Kerry is one of my personal idols, and I have great loyalty to him and the causes he chooses to fight for.

But I'm still for Edwards, and still passionately will support and vote for John in the primary.

12. Read the sig line, I'm support John Edwards. Obama's my second choice.
Realistically, I don't think Edwards can win the nomination at this point.

But I'm still holding out hope.

I'll be voting for John.

5. That's true. I'm talking about the endorsement itself. But the mailing list, that's huge.

Thanks for the giggle though. Hehe.

between barrack and john. i thought john would have been a good president and i think barrack would too. the one thing that sets john apart from all the others is how he deals and dealt with his personal life. he`s been tested in ways no other candidate has been. barrack for his youth and his ideas on how to get things done. his personal life of being raised the way he was, and the sites and sounds that he grew up with. but i do know one thing...somewhere on that road hillary gave up and accepted a ride

11. What bothers me about Kerry's endorsement.....
He said Obama will end the politics of swiftboating.

Why didn't Kerry?

16. He did--the media just didn't cover it.
And instead gave the swiftboaters 24/7 coverage, and gave Kerry and Edwards response to the baseless attacks no air time.

17. And it is just fine. Nobody should expect that from you. Recommended

An endorsement like that should do only one thing: get people whose commitment is weak or who are uncommitted to look again at a candidate, and make clear to all that a person supports a candidate.

So, I do not see why you should not continue to support Edwards. That would actually bother me if you did change just because Kerry said something.

18. You're last line sums it. I respect and listen to Senator Kerry's view, but I make my own judgment.
And I think Barack Obama is a wonderful person, a great Senator, and would make a fine President.

He's just not my first horse in this horserace.

He's my second :)
