Rolling Stone reporter on Bill Maher says Edwards is surging
Edited on Fri Jan-11-08 11:54 PM by kelligesq
YAY - can catch it again on re-palys during the week.

Bill Maher is saying John Edwards is the one who has the message, and why isnt he
doing better?

Rolling Stone says he thinks its mostly about the media

Bill Maher says the corporations are strangling this country and the little man.

Interesting he always said he was a Libertarian, but is sounding for Edwards

Now talking about how the media is ignoring Edwards

see it - you'll be cheered.

Rolling Stone talking about listening to John Edwards and feeling guilty about the luxury hotels he's staying in while John is talking about the people who dont have food to eat.

Wow 0- John is so getting through.

1. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.
I always wondered if Obama and Hillary might cancel each other out.

Buckle your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

8. Wall Street loves Hillary and Obama, fears Edwards the most
And MSM wonders 'why' ? The media company ownerships knows why.

41. I don't think they love HRC and BHO
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 12:06 AM by Spiffarino
...as much as they fear Edwards, Kucinich and even the fringe Libertarian, Ron Paul. They are just so out of synch with the corporate elites.

2. yes!
I almost expect the part of the media (very small unfortunately) that actually reports on John Edwards to start giving him mass amounts of time just to make it somewhat fair - the SOB media has treated him like some actor from the 50s that they accused of being communist or something!

3. K&R!
Now that's three - Lou Dobbs earlier, Howard Finnman on KO and now Bill Maher ... hey, Thanks Larry! Your little hit piece earlier may just have the opposite effect.

34. Eh, I think it's more likely that Tucker sees Edwards as finished ...
... and so sees some audience-attacting value in softening his attacks against him.

6. I can see how someone with a libertarian streak would
support Edwards. Edwards would make some real changes, without real changes the strangle hold the Corporations, media and the Military Industrial complex have on us will simply continue to tighten.

7. KO admitted that Hillary and Obama are getting their "new" economic talk straight from
Edwards. Played Hillary delivering one of Edwards classic stump speeches about visiting people in their homes who were worried about their jobs and their future and about how the middle class was being left behind...

Word for word Edwards, just done in a female voice. Most Americans wouldn't even know that John Edwards has been talking about this for a solid year, because the MSM won't cover him.

But then you could have knocked me over with a feather when both KO and his guest mentioned that this was what Edwards has been saying all along.

I think people like KO are starting to feel guilty. They know that people are going to look back at this election and say "The corporate media interfered. Just like with "Gore is a liar" in 2000 and "Swiftboat Vets" and CBS and Rather and the Exit Polls in 2004, the MSM in 2008 tried to interfere with the election, stabbing the John Edwards campaign in the back because they did not like his politics." And KO is trying to protect the reputation of his precious news media by giving Edwards a little bit of publicity on his show now, so that he can look back later and say "It isn't true. Edwards got coverage. I did it." Just like KO was supposed to prove to the world in 2004 that NBC cared about what was going down in Ohio, even though the network was one of those that would not release its exit polls.

Too little, too late.

I know that KO has a lot of fans and he does some good work, but he sleeps with a corporate devil.

9. This needs its own post. This info should be frontpagenews
but MSM keeps throwing the 'horserace' crap out there without any specifics to diferentiate the candidates. WHAT does Obama say that's different from Edwards ? besides using a lot of "change" and "hope" adjectives ? This is the equivalent of Biden's critique of Giuliani,

Joe Biden : Noun + Verb + 9/11 = Giuliani Vocabulary
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6rh-u7FBjc

Edwards needs a

Noun + verb + "change" + "hope" = Obama Vocabulary

performance !

10. Surging where?
He needs to win a state and win one soon. Personally I hope he does. I like Obama, but Edwards is likely the strongest candidate we have, especially in a time of looming economic troubles. He needs new speech material. It's not bad, but he repeats himself too often.

14. Thanks...I needed
some encouragement for John. He isn't taking all the Big Biz/Lobby $$$ like the others....everyone has complained about this for years...and now they IGNORE that fact about him entirely.

I just don't understand why Edwards isn't the darling of the Dems. I don't get it. Are people that unaware? Are they still listening to the MSM?

Would someone also please show me the big major differences between HRC and Obama? On policies. Where do they differ that much? Both are taking Big Biz $; both are surrounded by some yuck advisors.

And I thought Dems were sick of religious wingnuts....has anyone looked at the website for the church that Obama goes to???

I don't get it. Are americans that uneducated and easily manipulated by image, spin, and speeches? Never mind, don't answer that.

I talk alot about politics at work.....they all say "Don't get her started" lol....but most listen to the evening news and such....they don't search for answers like we do. They don't know! Most are just busy in their day to day lives, trusting what they hear on the news or read in a local paper.

22. Hey. A Surge With A Shot At Succeeding.
How anti-bush can you get?

Now, if he'd just start talking impeachment for war crimes and promise to ACT to return to American values, his surge might merge with the mother lode of support in the primary electorate.

23. Rolling Stone does no polling that I know of...
it's his opinion.

and if in fact Edwards is surging, it's from a distant third to a not-so-distant third.

But he's not surging. No polls show any such phenomenom.

and not even that. His "I'm a Libertarian" spiel is bullshit...always has been. He's a smart, cynical, misogynistic, misanthropic left-libertarian with a TV show.

Of course, on this matter, he's quite right.
