1. Yeah, too bad we're going to be running against McCain
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 04:52 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
How those idiots managed to accidently stumble on their one credible candidate... just dumb luck, I guess.

5. Just wait until McCain starts talking
His political agenda is horrifying -- it's War, War, War, and a smidgin of Tax Cuts.

I admire the man in many ways. But not as a policy-maker.

10. didn't that agenda work for Bush last time?
I sure hope people look at issues - if not we're in trouble.

11. You think people aren't looking for a definite change in policy? I think they are.

16. I don't know what most Americans are looking for...
The fact that more than a tiny percentage of people voted for GWB twice, esp. the 2nd time around... The fact that Reagan (deficit, pile up nukes) is considered a great president...
The attention given to the Spears family...
How few Americans can find the US much less Iraq or Pakistan on a map...

I am so baffled and out of touch that I don't know.

I do hope they want change, and at this point they seem to. I am afraid of what could swing them to more of the same, esp. some foreign policy or terror disaster. November is a long time away. One reason I wanted Biden as the nominee - he could tackle them on those issues easily. Now I am nervous.

13. I'm not convinced that McCain will get it
Romney could very well take Michigan and Huckabee or even Gramps could take SC. Then we get to FL and who knows who'll come out on top there. The pukes could go into Super Tuesday with several candidate and none the frontrunner.

14. It could be ugly I agree.
That's why I want Edwards to be the nominee, doesn't look like that will happen unfortunately.

17. LOL, it's part dumb luck...
but they also tend to have a better grasp of the political landscape than Democrats do. That is Karl Rove's secret weapon; he understands the US political landscape. Democrats think that if they like their candidate then everyone else will too. It's naive and they never seem to get it.

2. The fact that both our top candidates edge out a war hero with high
approval ratings bodes very well for the Democratic party.

3. I Am Really Surprised At The Size Of The Speads
Anything can happen but I think the Rethugs are sunk if they don't nominate McCain...

6. I think they're sunk even if they DO nominate McCain--
he's very old, most people don't realize he's no longer an honorable "maverick", and I doubt most people realize he wants to stay in Iraq forever. He will also fare poorly in debates. Look at the New Hampshire results--I think both Hillary and Obama got more total votes than he did (that's what I remember, anyway)--that's in a state heavy with Repubs/Indies who loved him, and a big military presence.

9. Obama And Clinton Got More (Indy) Votes Than McCain In NH
I wish we could talk about how good our top two candidates are instead of ripping them apart...

They have different skill sets and different strengths and weaknesses...

7. Whichever one wins (assuming its one of them)
...will absolutely have to win Ohio and Florida. Clinton has two major endorsements in Ohio (Stephanie Tubbs-Jones and Ted Stricland). She can and will win Ohio. In Florida, She has four endorsements to Obama's one, and she does much better with the over 60 crowd and Hispanics.

I have decided to back Clinton because I know for sure she can beat any republican, hands down. Without Ohio and Florida, I don't see how Obama can cut it. He has major work to do in those states before he has a chance.

19. No, they don't! McCain is within the 3% margin of error on the CNN poll
Hillary, Obama, and McCain are only one point apart. The Clintonistas have such a flair for hyperbole, "Hillary crushes..." seems to be a favorite expression.
