Great News for Obama:The Mclaughlin Group: the race is even money bet. Obama and Hopeless Hillary
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 12:30 PM by Bleachers7
I was just watching the Mclaughlin Group. They said pretty much across the board that it's even money between Hopeless Hillary and Obama. This is terrific news for Obama because they recently said that Hillary would run him over.

EDIT: Lawrence O'Donnell wasn't on.

2. The greater question is, who can win the general election? The answer?
Neither, and those of you who have myopically supported these flawed candidates have to take the blame.

4. Where did I say something about race?
This is about the race between Hillary and Obama. It's not about black and white.

8. The problem is, it just might get Obama to the primary finish line...
and then on to losing in the general election. I use to think that if Obama wins the nomination and the Repubs make race a side issue, that it would hurt the Republicans. I've changed my mind about that. Now if the Republicans can just get Obama's black supporters talking about race, the general electorate will be so turned off by the topic that they'll trend toward supporting the Republican because they won't want to hear about charges of racism everyday for the next 4 years. Rest assured that Karl Rove is wearing his dancing shoes once again.

15. YOU (of course) are the only one who brought race into this
The OP said nothing about it. Not that you respond to any questions, but why did you bring race up in this thread? Don't answer and we can only draw our own unfavorable conclusions.

5. am surprised, they have been supportive of Hillary in the past
very interesting, though I must admit I find it unnerving that we don't have a strong front runner right now, I think we are
going to need a strong front runner to beat back the muck that is churned up this time, the GOP does not run on its record which
is abysmal, they run on hate and smear.

Especially Buchanan. This is quite a turnaround.

They didn't talk about them much. BTW, Larry O'Donnell wasn't on.

16. Larry O'Donnell was embarrassed that his comments on Huck
went all over the net, I doubt they realize that their guest spots can become an internet phenomenon.

10. Didn't the McLaughlin group have on McWhorter, that white racist apologist?
Why would anyone have a racism-denier like him on any program, unless it's a right wing extremist, Republican program?

14. Are you kidding me? Either I was dreaming or I woke up to watch that a-hole McWhorter....
... he's this black Repuke, hired by the Repukes to say that the reason blacks have problems is because they bring it on themselves.

As for McLaughlin, what's so good about that program? I've never watched it that they weren't rooting for corporations and other similar crap.

I'm getting the feeling I'm talking to someone in the Twilight Zone!

17. I don't think that guy was on the show.
The show is usually balanced with 2-3 Dems and 2-3 pukes. Buchanan has been on there forever. So has Eleanor. It's a Beltway insiders type show. It's still very interesting to hear what the people that know know. I enjoy it and have for a long time.

18. McLaughlin is a window into the beltway thinking
sure there's many times that you want to clinch your teeth but at least you know what the policy is shaping up as. Being
committed Dems, it helps to know what DC is thinking and how it shapes up. At least there you get real discussion and
not the spoon feed, pasteurized stuff on some of the other shows.
