6. I'm with you.
Deeply disappointed in Hillary's performance on Meet the Press this morning. Her "explanation" of her vote on the war was a lousy joke. Pretty much clinched that Obama gets my support if John can't stop her.

4. why the hell would he want to?
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 04:49 PM by frogcycle
edit:

my response is based on expectation that he will win

assuming the split is similar to now, then its a brokered convention, and Obama is not necessarily the beneficiary - it could be anybody

9. if he has enough to "stop" HRC
then he has enough to tie the convention up, go through a couple of rounds of voting, and then throw it wide open.

If she has 51% it's over.

If between Obama and Edwards they have 51%, Edwards needn't "give" his delegates to Obama to throw the whole thing open - maybe even to get HRC's delegates and win it himself.

11. Now, I am more confused!
Anyone who has 51% wins?

14. I think so.
Pretty sure you just need a majority to win the nomination.

7. It's way too early to talk about that and it just
irks JE supporters. What's the point? With Obama and Clinton going at each other, JE is actually the person who could benefit.

8. I think it depends on the "type" of delegate
I think for some of his delegates, yes, he can direct who they cast ballots for at the convention. Others, especially super-delegates, I think all he can do is ask that they vote for someone other than himself.

And for delegates awarded to candidates who drop out (primary held, delegate awarded) I think it's much the same kind of rules. But hell, it's the Democratic party, I'm thinking that anything goes...

10. His delegates, sure. But his votes?
How nice of Obama's people to assume those votes are by rights, THEIRS. But that's how they feel about New Hampshire, too.

12. Seems kind of a RUDE Question!
And , although I can't speak for my fellow Edwards supporters , I personally plan on going Independent or Green if Edwards is shut out.

13. We have had only two primaries to date...
There are states where Hillary is going to win.

There are states where Obama is going to win.

There are states where Edwards is gong to win

Why would anyone be speaking of defeat at this point?

17. It looks to me like that to me
the Obamites seem to think and that it's Edwards obligation to help Obama out at the convention. They seem to look at Edwards supporters as their pawns.

18. Well, I don't think so. I believe he will win SC. After that,
it's all up for grabs. Should be an exciting time and that's good. Bless all our candidates.

19. I think they can release them
and recommend where they go. Not sure they can "assign" them to a different candidate.
