You know, watching John Edwards in these debates ...
is starting to make me feel like I'm seeing a man who really does deserve to be president one day. I wish that the media would pay him more attention. I feel like he has gotten a very very unfair shake.

1. Just saw that putrid Glenn Beck say Edwards might as
well wear a red star and a furry hat. I can see they forget to sew up his pie hole after his surgery.

5. I wonder if he feels that socialized medicine is still the worst
thing in the world? I mean, can he think it would be worse than what happened to him?

2. Yes, I'm thinking that way too.

Would he still have it 8 years from now... the fire in the belly to be President?

If so, would he serve in an Obama administration as Veep?

Obama/Edwards would be enough to beat Hillary for the nomination... and pretty much any of the three will, I think, win the Presidency. I think the only close race for President would be Hillary v. McCain. Or maybe Hillary v. Rudy (but first, Rudy has to reach around and put his ass back where it belongs because so many have been handing it to him). Other than those two matchups, I think Democrats win, and win big.

Just my personal opinion, not backed by polling data... which is OK, because, as we have learned, personal punditry is just as good as the best polls in picking the winners.

3. Yeah I feel bad about that.

Too bad he didn't have Mitt Romney amounts of money.

6. If he had Mitt Romney amounts of money and backing,
he wouldn't be the 'independent' man, free from corporate ownership, fighting for the middle class.

4. Also I had a call from Obama's camp yesterday.
I told them I was supporting Edwards with my dollars and time right now, but if indeed Barack is our candidate, I will work for him too. It's just sad that the media has decided who our picks will be.

7. We're Such Sheep, Though Too
We go right along with it.
For over a year the media has been trying to make this a two person race.

Although I'm an Edwards supporter, I really don't take it too personally for him or think it's because the corporate media, corporate powers etc. are "scared" of him. He's pushing a pretty progressive agenda now, but his record is not consistent (neither is Clinton's or Obama's).

They are trying to make it a two person race because Clinton and Obama are interesting. A WOMAN who is a powerhouse in Washington. A BLACK man who is young and fresh. It's a very interesting dynamic. What's Edwards in the mix? Another WASP, a lawyer, one term senator who is no longer new, but not part of the establishment either. :boring:

8. No killer instinct
Edwards is a great guy. But he showed in 2004 that he lacks whatever it is that makes a candidate want to put a stake through the heart of his/her opponent. The Republicans are not nice. They fight dirty. Edwards will be more successful when he stops being so nice and goes for the jugular,

9. That's called chickens coming home to roost
First they got rid of Gravel, and he didn't object. Then he colluded with Clinton in debate restriction. Kucinich has a far stronger populist messaga than Edwards. Now that Edwards is the most populist candidate left standing by the MSM, WTF did he THINK was going to happen next?

10. I was happier when all 8 of our candidates were still in the race -- happier
with them, I mean. A lot less happy with the mainstream media for ignoring 6 of those 8 candidates.

If Mike Gravel had received the level of attention the media accord to frontrunners, he'd BE the frontrunner.

The Edwards campaign has done well under the circumstances, but there's just no way the media has played this campaign fairly. And of course the more meaningful reform a candidacy suggests, the more cowardly and manipulative the media become, and the coverage drops proportionally.

13. Hi, chimpymustgo. Yes -- I'm definitely in on the Friday donation event.
I'd like to send a little message to the corporate media that there are more than just 2 people seeking the Democratic nomination.

14. why does he blink so much?
Blinks a lot.
from-
http://www.contactomagazine.com/articles/liarsigns0808.htm

Psychological research suggests that liars no matter how good they are always give off subtle clues that they are not being truthful if you know what to look for. The list below will help you go some way to 'spotting a liar'.

1. EYE CONTACT. A common misconception is that a person who is lying is unable to maintain eye contact. Nonsense: people break eye contact all the time - our eyes are moving constantly. In fact a person who is lying is more likely to unnaturally hold eye contact with you for this very reason as he thinks if he breaks it you will know he is lying.

2. BLINKING. A person who is lying will blink a lot,as blinking seems to correlate to the amount of mental stress we are under. In a normal conversation where a person is attuned to you, he will blink at roughly the same rate as you, often at moments when you pause in your speech. Be wary of someone who is blinking frantically as they speak with you.

I've seen him give basically the same speeches in different venues, sometimes blinks, sometimes not.
