And you call yourself a Democrat. All Democrats should stand up for Christina Billings.
Whether you like her or not she is being marginalized by the corporatist republicans and a number of Democrats. NBC is blatantly censoring her and no one is coming to her defense. Does the Democratic Party fear NBC, do they have to yield to the NBC corporatist censorship?

If you don’t like her stand on issues then say so, but please defend her right to debate.

And I would be curious which issues you don’t agree with.

We need Princess Christina Gerasimos Billings-Elias in the debates; she is keeping attention on issues the others are afraid to address.

And please stop with the princess jokes, it is unbecoming a true Democrat.

For information, I am an Obama supporter.

2. If they can do it to Christina Billings
They can do it to Lee Mercer!

I would like to know why some on this board are against proving the United States Government is not a failing government in regulations but a failing Government in regulating regulations for the administration in Business and Commerce Intelligence National and International.

For information, I voted for Kodos.

My head is spinning, but I blame that on the Eye Spy Community-Military Intelligence (All Three) Business and Commerce Intelligence National and International.

4. With all due respect, this is the first time I've ever heard of her
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 10:51 AM by Paint It Black
Maybe I haven't been paying attention as much as I should, but I've never even seen her mentioned here on DU. I don't know enough about her to even form an opinion, but merely proclaiming yourself a presidential candidate doesn't make you one. Any one of us could declare ourselves as a candidate for president, create a website, and then complain that we're getting shafted by the M$M.

Not to belabor the point, but look at the following link, and notice how many "other Democratic candidates" there are running for president. There are 21 "other" candidates in addition to Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Kucinich, and Gravel. Should anyone who files paperwork with the FEC to run for president automatically be allowed into the debates? If so, how would you structure a 26-person debate? And if not, then how would you pick and choose which candidates should be given serious consideration? This isn't a flippant question, because you're fired up about this one particular candidate - but what about all the other ones? Do they deserve equal consideration? If not, then why not?

ON EDIT:

Nevermind, I just saw the other post about Kucinich.

16. Not all 26 are on all the state ballots.
In fact, I'd suspect a majority of them aren't on the ballot anywhere. And 10-candidate debates have been done before.

Simple rule. If you're on the ballot in that state, you're in that state's debate. If you're on enough ballots to qualify for 270 electoral votes, you're in the national debates. Right now that would just be us, Republicans, Libertarians, Greens and maaaaaybe the Constitution Party.

17. Lyndon LaRouce is on some ballots but is ineligible for the nomination.
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 12:11 PM by LoZoccolo
He is not a registered voter and thus according to the rules of the Democratic Party, he cannot be their nominee. Would you allow Lyndon LaRouche into the debate?

9. That's pretty funny
We ought to be outraged if Kuchinich doesn't get to be on stage in Las Vegas, and show it by trying to remove the posts of anyone who doesn't agree? No double standard there!

11. Sorry. You Joe Lieberman supporters no longer have credibility at DU.
Poll question: If Gore/LIEberman were in The White House from 2000-2008, would you support LIEberman for President?

"Yes, I would enthusiastically support him and campaign for him". n/t LoZoccolo Nov-26-07 12:59 AM #24

Senator Joe Lieberman Endorses John McCain For President

This morning in New Hampshire, Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) endorsed John McCain for President of the United States...
snip---
"We desperately need our next President to break through the reflexive partisanship that is poisoning our politics and stopping us from getting things done. We need a President who can reunite our country, restore faith in our government, and rebuild confidence in America's future.

"My friend John McCain is that candidate, and that is why I am so proud to be standing by his side today.

McCain hopes Lieberman will draw independents
January 15th, 2008, filed by Andy Sullivan

YPSILANTI, Michigan - Republican presidential candidate John McCain had a special guest to help him appeal to independents voting here on Tuesday — Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, a former Democrat who is now an independent.

Lieberman, the party’s vice presidential nominee in 2000, urged moderate and conservative Democrats in Michigan to vote for McCain rather than participate in their party’s all-but-meaningless contest.

15. claims rise to WH was predicted by Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt
http://www.theage.com.au/cgi-bin/common/popupPrintArticle.pl?path=/articles/2007/12/08/1196813078622.html

PRINCESS CHRISTINA GERASIMOS BILLINGS-ELIAS Independent
The wonderfully named Miss Gerasimos Billings-Elias claims her spurious title because her grandfather was the first Greek in Detroit (in 1890).
She's standing from a base in — where else? — Hollywood, and claims her rise to the White House was predicted by Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt when she was a child.

"When I become president in 2008," she says, "I will immediately call for an international conference for all nations apologising for the past presidents of the United States for wrongful decision-making."

Her platform otherwise seems muddled, but centres on dealing with government corruption. "Whistleblowers of government misconduct, or private citizens who as a result were dismissed from their positions, will be compensated at least 50% of their salaries by a special bill," explains the princess. "I have also dedicated myself, my know-how and personal assets of copyrights and trademarks to raise as much money as possible to bring home our troops in Iraq."

Her website features a strange picture of her with vaguely vampire-like teeth, a bouffant wig and a black-and-white picture for a face. Sections such as "The Chosen One" outline, in barely comprehensible sentences, her family history, her favourite sports and odd writings on topics "restoring harmony".

A slogan I saw on a T-shirt recently sums it up best: "LA is weird."
