Rachel Maddow: What CHANGE means for Clinton, Edwards & Obama
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 08:18 PM by polichick
Very interesting take on it, I think.

Change to Clinton means Republicans Out, Democrats In

Change to Edwards means Special Interests Out, The People In

Change to Obama means Obama In, because he can transcend all the divisions.

(As told to Keith Olbermann a few minutes ago.)

1. I'd like to add my thoughts to Maddow's about what change means
to the three candidates.

"Change to Clinton means Republicans Out, Democrats In"
That alone would be wonderful for the American people.

"Change to Edwards means Special Interests Out, The People In"
True, but in addition it would also mean that the Dems were in and the Pubs were out. That would be even more valuable than the Clinton goal.

"Change to Obama means Obama In, because he can transcend all the divisions."
That sounds nice but sort of whimsical. I fear that his plan for change will not have enough "teeth" to be able to get anything done.

2. Your additions make sense...
I keep thinking how great it would be to have one candidate with the diligence and know-how of Clinton, the fighting spirit and populist ideals of Edwards, and the rhetorical and inspirational abilities of Obama. But the biggest change of all has to come from the people ~ we have to believe that the country is ours to take back!
