Obama's vision of the Presidency is whack
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 09:14 PM by 2rth2pwr
We are starting to see the image Obama has of being President. Obama's 'I'm not an operating officer", I'll just get a bunch of people
to do that stuff for me because I lose things and my desk just gets messy anyway.

What happens in a crisis? Is he going to rely on third level staffers to do the quick, effective decision making in the crunch because he can't get his hands dirty?

Is this why he looks to Reagan as the model of a transformational presidency? Does anybody remember the stage crafting of Reagan? Every light, prop, crowd, flag, pencil, tie, and speech was scripted from start to finish, Obama is good at giving his lines, the lines that get people crying and emotional, does he see that as his role? Another Reagan with Hollywood handlers who is a good communicator?

Do we have 4-8 yrs to look forward to with him giving pablum to the masses while his Chicago
crew runs the Government?

Reagan had an excuse, he was in his 70's and had Alzheimers, what's Obama's?

1. Yup I kinda thought that was dumb ass stuff he's been saying

People do have an image of a President, I'm sorry but they do. Creating an image of messy, passing the stuff to other people does not look good.

I mean they all do it, but you dont actually bloody say it.

32. Ever notice his nonchalance at admitting he doesn't know what he's doing?
And his perception of the presidency is nothing he has the slightest interest in learning?

He needs an assistant to hold on to a piece of paper because he might lose it?

Seems he is emotionally immature for the requirements of the next US President.

61. People who find it necessary to use his middle name are
interesting to me. Hillary uses Rodham. Obama doesn't. And I rarely see anyone referring to Edwards as Johny Reid Edwards.

If you're comparing Obama to bushco because they both went to Harvard, or suggesting that Obama supporters chose Obama for that reason, you're full of it.

22. Just because other people say or do foul things does not mean
that Obama is bad. I attend a church that doesn't support gays. However one of my best friends is gay. There are many pastors and crooked churches thats why its important for lay people to have their own relationship with God. I can hear what my pastor says about different races, cultures or customs but it doesn't mean that I agree. In some areas I agree with Farrakhan but I still think he preaches hate which I don't tolerate. Every mans a sinner or has faults even you my dear have faults.

Lieberman was assigned to Obama when Obama entered the Senate.
Dennis Ross is a mixed bag- as are the majority of the advisors to all the candidates
Coburn is someone Obama has worked with on cutting pork
Robert Reich is another mixed bag- and there's a lot of good to be said about him.

Now tell me who you support, and I'll do a similar shallow hit job. And a much better one, at that.

63.  Obama ob State Senate Records....!:: ..it could have been thrown out."
Yet, the Obama camp has made no effort to assist investigators to look into his state records. In fact, Senator Obama has blithely claimed that his records have been

thrown out. Chicago columnist Lynn Sweet reports that Obama, who has called for "transparency in government" from his rivals, is not much interested in revealing his

own documents.

"I was in the state Senate for eight years," Obama said. "I had one staff person, that was what was allocated. I don't have archivists in the state Senate. I don't have

the Barack Obama State Senate Library available to me, so we had a bunch of file cabinets. I do not have a whole bunch of records from those years. Now, if there are

particular documents that you are interested in, then you should let us know...As I said, I didn't have the resources to ensure that all this stuff was archived in some

way...it could have been thrown out."

57. I have to agree.
And it's the main reason I haven't been able to warm to his candidacy. It's this whole leadership by inspiration thing. It's not something I can relate to - or even respond to it seems. Maybe I'm too much of a cynic when it comes to politics.

I want a politician that knows the issues inside out - that is willing to get their hands dirty fixing them.

They called Reagan "the great communicator". I always thought of him as "the great bullshitter". Obama seems to think that is a good leadership model.

69. Is "wack" a good thing or a bad thing? I mean "bad" like really bad..
not "bad" like "good-bad" or "cool-bad" or "superbad".

From the article it sounds like wack is bad... But Obama seems like a pretty good guy, even if he's not the candidate I support, so in this case is wack good? I heard Whitney said "Crack is wack" but she seems to smoke a lot of it, so in her case is wack good?

Of course, I mean crack like cocaine crack, not sidewalk crack or break your mama's back. And I mean mama like your mother, not like your "babymama" which means the mother of your baby. And I mean kids like your children, not like "kidding around". And when I say "baby" I mean your offspring, not your squeeze. And when I say "squeeze" I mean a girl you mack on, not squeeze like you do to orange juice. "Mack" of course means to kiss, not like "Mad-mack-McCain". "Mad" in this case signifying crazy, not pissed off. And of course "pissed" as I use it here implies a sort of rage, not being "pissed" in the British sense of being wasted. "Wasted" in the sense of drinking too much, not like I wasted an opportunity to get laid. By "laid" I mean the chance to have sex, not the chance to lay down in my crib. Which is, of course, my house, not where my baby-mama puts my kids...
