Shortage of Dentists in British single payer system
Looks like in the British National Health Care System, Dentists are allowed
to OPT Out of the system. If a similar system is set up in US, I hope they will
mandate each doctor & dentist to put in atleast half of their time in the system.
Otherwise we will all go through what people on Medicare (single payer system)
are going through, which is majority of doctors don't accept new medicare patients.

2. Nationalized/Socialized medicine....
whatever you want to call it, we can't go half ass. Either it is
mandatory for all including the rich and the doctors or forget it.

4. The more urgent need is medical care
- any type of medical care at all besides the ER - for most people who are currently uninsured. Many people have lived to a ripe old age with bad teeth.

6. Amen. The point of great teeth if you're dead is.... nothing. Besides, we don't EVEN have dental
care here! We have NOTHING here! If you don't have plenty of money in the U.S., you're out of luck on all accounts.

7. That is not the point....
The real story to me here is that if doctors or dentists are allowed to
opt out of the system, the access and quality of care will be pathetic.

8. Make education inexpensive
And there will be enough dentists and doctors to go around.

9. My son, a new dentist, and his girlfriend, a new pediatrician, are over a half million in debt.

10. That is absolutely insane
I think so many more people would do so much more with their lives if the prospect of thousands of dollars of debt weren't hanging over their head. Low income people are just not used to thousands of dollars of anything.

Instead of framing their diploma, your kids should frame their student loan contract so people will understand why office visits are so dang expensive!
