Is Obama rallying independents in Nevada by spinning Reagan?
This is my best guess, I'm open to opinions.

3. It was a calculated move...
He's trying to rally somebody, but I'm not sure who yet.

It seems a little late in the game for Nevada though. But it's entirely possible that he directed this towards independents/certain Dems in the Super Tuesday states. And, you know what, I think it just might work.

11. They are, but there are a lot of people who pick one party or the other...
...so they can vote in primaries, but consider themselves "independent".

I actually do that. I'm decidedly liberal and am registered as a "democrat". I basically vote straight-ticket dem, donate money, etc. But I still like to think of myself as "independent". And if I were asked by an exit poller what I am, I might say "independent". I like to think that the Dems still need to work for my vote, lol.

reuniting and becoming a force....like winning the GE by a landslide. His campaign has always been about inclusion. It didn't start in Nevada. He's been consistent about this....which is why he specifically used the word trajectory.

9. Jim Webb did this in his Senate election in Virginia
it went over big and may have been one of several reasons why a Democrat won in this mostly red state in Virginia.

Even after Nancy asked him to pull the ad, it was too late.

10. Yes but it wont work -

the same thing happened in NH - the independents do not want Romney or Huckabee so they will vote for McCain over Obama. Romney is winning in NV right now.

14. Believe me, a lot people who loved Reagan were not pleased with
his polocies. You can't tell people who lived through those years that they were good ones and Reagan did a great job unless you were among the top 2% in income in this country. Everyone else, Independent, Dem, and Republican alike know what the hell they went through during those years.
