Hillary win will because of strong support in Northern Nevada, Clark County isn't enough for Obama
She leads Obama by 17% in Reno, 16% in Rural Nevada, only 5% in Clark County where Obama has Culinary.

http://www.lvrj.com/news/13891207.html

Clinton's 9-point lead over Barack Obama, 41 percent to 32 percent, maintains the lead she's held in most state polls despite Obama's intense efforts to compete here and his recent union endorsements. John Edwards trails with 14 percent of the vote.

The Review-Journal last polled the state about a month ago and found Clinton in the lead by 8 points. In the new poll, Clinton leads among women, 49 percent to 28 percent, and among those 50 and over, 46 percent to 27 percent.

Obama leads among men, 37 percent to 30 percent, and voters under 50, 39 percent to 34 percent. He does better in Clark County, where he polls 34 percent to Clinton's 39 percent, but she leads him by 17 points in Washoe County and 16 points in rural Nevada.

"Hillary Clinton has a solid base of traditional Democrats," said University of Nevada, Reno, political scientist Eric Herzik. "She has the baby boomers. There's a generational split really emerging in this election."

4. and when she loses
we can expect another "human" moment I guess...I don't think I've ever disliked a democratic candidate as much as this one-mostly because of the surrogates and supporters-I kind of like the lady herself-it's just the nasty hacks that are working boards like this one-every minute of every day

6. LOL
I had totally forgotten that Nevada ISN'T just Las Vegas! And I have relatives who live there! I should know better. Had no idea her support was that strong in the Northern part of the State.

I guess perhaps the Culinary Union's ham-handed "vote for Obama or else" tactics with their Members may not be enough to win the State after all.

7. I think Bill's smears are really going to push her support over the edge!
And hopefully they come up with a plan B to suppress the vote. Not even judges can stop the Clintons!
:woohoo:

8. how many threads does 1 poll deserve?
You do know this is a Caucus, right?

Caucus Polls are pretty much crap.

Remember the ones pre-Iowa showing Hillary in the lead?
Then she lost by 8 points.

18. who said anything about the RCP average?
I was speaking to the unreliability of Caucus polling. There were polls that wrongly showed Hillary in the lead.

9. Zogby says the complete opposite.
Hillary is still winning Vegas, but Obama is winning rural Nevada big. I don't think anyone knows what's going on.

16. why don't you go into the story on his Nevada poll and it's in the last paragraph
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 05:17 PM by book_worm
I mean right on the home page it says Latest News from Zogby: Clinton leads Obama in Nevada. Just click on that link and I think you'll find where it says that Clinton leads in LV and Obama the rest of the state.

20. Don't expect idiots to do their own research.
They'd rather do what the republicans followers have done all these years, and just repeat the false accusations, polls and keyword talking points. HRC is doing a great job of adapting the Rovian playbook to her DLC lovefest campaign.

17. lookee here
"Clinton held a strong advantage in the city of Las Vegas, with the support of 48% support of likely Democratic voters who live there. Obama attracted 36% of that group and Edwards 10%. Obama, meanwhile, did better in the rest of the state, taking 41% of support to Clinton’s 31% and Edwards’ 16%."

21. This line in the article says it all.
"Saturday's meetings require in-person, on-time participation in a confusing process Nevadans have not tried before."

As much as I love HRC, I don't think the pollsters have Nevada figured out.
