Edwards Lashes out at Obama...Defends Hillary!
"Just a few days ago, on a stage where all three of us were participating in the debate, there was a discussion of putting behind us and stopping the race politics that had been going on for a few days before that between Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. And everyone pledged that this kind of divisive politics that divides the Democratic Party and could divide America would come to an end."

Edwards said:

"Senator Obama made that pledge. I was sitting five feet from him when I heard him say it. And now it turns out that in the last 24 hours, there's a radio ad that's being run — a malicious radio ad attacking Senator Clinton. That is exactly that kind of divisive politics. It's being run right here in Las Vegas."

"I denounce it. This kind of ad, I don't care who's doing it — in this case it's Senator Obama's supporters — but this sort of thing needs to stop. And from what I've seen,Senator Obama has not said a single word about this.... Nothing

... when two days ago, three days ago, he sat on a stage in front of America and said this kind of politics had no place in America. That is divides America. It divides the Democratic Party. And he denounced it.

Well, now it's happening ... by Obama's supporters ... right here in this campaign twenty-four hours before the caucuses. And what I have to say is he should speak up. If he really means what he says — and this is not just talk — he should speak up and denounce this kind of divisive politics. It is not what the Democratic Party needs. It is not what America needs. And let me say this very clearly, vis-a-vis Senator Obama, I will not divide America. I will unite America.

...The Politics of CHANGE? Oh, I see. Obama's "change" is using Republican tactics...ah, now I get it!

1. He really is taking advantage of their bickering. Seems to be a campaign strategy.

5. He probably is taking advantage of the situation,
if I was in his position, I certainly would, but somebody had to say, and I'm glad he did.

7. Whatever his personal reason in this - he happens to be right (like on the Raygun
thinghie). Looks like the admiration for Raygun's strategery turned up into Lee atwater style dirty tricks.

25. and you trust Hillary? Unbeleivable... "Oh I Prayed a lot." Disgusting Pander
The American people demonstrate their sheer ignorance when they select candidates with the character displayed by either Clinton, especially Clinton but Obama as well as he cheap shots Clinton. They ARE BOTH Pitiful!

11. I like Edwards
and I'm outraged at Obama's apparent unawareness of Reagan's using coded racist words to win white Southern votes, but I WILL vote for Obama or Clinton in the general if either is the nominee.

13. Edwards did the right thing exposing Obama's hypocrisy..
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 11:14 PM by Tellurian
I have to give credit where credit is due. A few months back Edwards at his own detriment, played the role of attack dog for Obama leaving Obama's hands clean. Only now, are we seeing the "real" Obama coming forth.

The Reagan admiration, vote manipulation for Nuclear Energy Interests (Yucca Mtn), the Republican sounding, running for the Democratic Nomination, presidential hopeful, Barack Hussein Obama.

There is nothing about this man that is remotely Presidential Timber, qualifying him as the next Democratic Nominee entrusted with the responsibility and the expectations of the People, who's faith is rooted in the American Dream.

10. When Obama and Clinton start shouting from the rooftops the truth about the U.S......
... I will be a happy woman indeed. Until then, I'm a devoted supporter of Edwards and only Edwards.

14. The all powerful Obama will unleash a lightning bolt that will turn the 527 into mere dust!
I saw someone respond to the story on Politico:

Don't worry John, Obama can denounce the ad after the primaries are over as long as he apologizes, just like you habitually apologize for your voting record.

Pretty funny...

As for Obama, even if he denounces the ad, the ad will still run. It's a 527 that is not linked to his campaign, unlike the ad in Iowa which was linked to an Edwards PAC.

19. I bet if we did a poll
on who has been - well a little less then fair!
Obama or Hillary - would lead, maybe tied

Edwards would be in last (maybe not even make the poll)

I do want ALL of them to "Play fair" and not worry about "He said" & and "She Said"
But on the Issues, at hand

But might just be a dream

23. Dammit, why did I have to read this today? This makes me want to caucus for Obama today
instead of Edwards. If he has accepted a job offer with the "clinton administration" I am more than going to throw up in my mouth.

The Clintons are such skilled dividers. I remember their first 8 years.

24. Edwards is taking the side of what is RIGHT. Obama should denounce the ad. Period.
This is the utmost of hypocrisy on Obama's part. I am becoming so disillusioned with Obama. It's just one thing after another.
