Politicians have every right to share their thoughts on religion ....
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 11:24 PM by sjdnb
Just as long as they understand that it has absolutely NO bearing on their suitability/qualifications for office and that religion is NOT an underlying tenet upon which this country was founded and is irrelevant with regards to all branches, functions, and decisions weighed by the government.

Unfortunately, it appears none of them have taken the time to study the Constitution, Federalist Papers, or any history related to the principles upon which the country was founded.

It appears, especially for the R (but, some Dems seem like to play the R card (Religion Card), too, that some politicians (and, their supporters) prefer to get their opinions/'edumacation' fed to them via Free Republic, the Christian Coalition, Catholic League, etc. versus the Founding Fathers.

Religion and greed will be the undoing of the nation if we are not careful - it's happened to the 'mightiest' of nations throughout history.

3. The ones on the approved list, anyway.
When I converted to Christianity, my girlfriend had to ask me if I had done it just to be able to go into politics. She got her answer when I deconverted three years later, but it's a sad commentary on our nation that it was a legitimate and plausible question.
