Hillary has Lieberman's back

Hillary thinks Lieberman should keep his committee assignments, even though he's campaigning for Republican John McCain.

1. Aw crap I agree with Hillary
I don't want a 50/50 Congress. It's bad enough the way it is.

3. We made a deal.
What part of that does kos not understand? It had nothing to do with what Joe does. It had to do with keeping the committee chairmanships. And if Joe croaked tomorrow, we would stuff him and stand him in a corner to keep those chairmanships.

Hillary is smart enough to know that even if we sweep the election in 2008, WE ONLY HAVE TWO YEARS. In 2010, the Congress could be right back in Republican hands. Or back to where it would make a difference if we had Joe or not.

I want a president who has the brains not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

PS: This is why we want someone with less rant and more experience. Politics is made of deals with the devil every damn day.

5. Res Ipsa Loquitur
"I know that some in the party have differences with Joe," Senator Obama said, all but silencing the crowd. "I'm going to go ahead and say it. It's the elephant in the room. And Joe and I don't agree on everything. But what I know is, Joe Lieberman's a man with a good heart, with a keen intellect, who cares about the working families of America."

Then, with applause beginning to build, he finished the thought: "I am absolutely certain that Connecticut's going to have the good sense to send Joe Lieberman back to the United States Senate."
