Largest Counties in NV are Washoe (Reno) and Clark (Vegas)
Doesn't look like that are 500 votes in the rest of the state. Anyone here from NV? Need the inside scoop. Does each campaign have a stronghold? Last caucus what happened? etc...
1. this is true but also, this is our first caucus and the rural counties get the same count as at-larg
at-large casino precinct sites
So in Washoe and Clark, it will take 50 people to get one delegate. In the rural counties and the casino precincts, it will take 5 to get one delegate.
9. Not really...it takes more supporters in rural areas to get delegates
as opposed to the at-large zones. Why do you think the Clinton supporters in Nevada were trying to get rid of them when Obama gained the support of the powerful unions?
10. Not to pass judgment or anything, but I will...
What a screwy system. The organized gamesmanship of horse trading in caucuses is bad enough. So now we have to guess who gets more added juice; Union reps watching their members line up live at the work place or rural voters who get their votes weighed 10X that of more urban voters.
Honestly, and I say this now before any results are in that can bias my opinion, I am beginning to think that whatever results come out of this caucus round should simply be discarded and ignored as irrelevant to anything.
On top of everything else there is no established tradition of caucus going in Nevada so the sample who actually participate today are extremely unlikely to be representative of the public at large. The Nevada caucus was originally intended to be tucked in between Iowa and New Hampshire when it's actual impact on the race would have loomed much smaller than it does now. I don't think anyone saw this day coming the way it has.
