The democratic party isn't ready for a black candidate thats my take as of now
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 04:38 PM by bigdarryl
I predict Obama will not win a single state here on end the fact that a majority of whites went for Clinton and a majority of Latinos went to her and women continue to vote for her in these high numbers tells me the party want there female President over a African American the fact that a guy can raise 80 million dollars and can't win but one state Iowa tells me that this party and country for that matter will never vote for a African American

11. DemocratIC! And he's looking strong in SC.
And he didn't win one state out of 50, he's won one out of three. (MI doesn't count.)

12. it's not his race that's at issue for me
it's his gaffs which show his lack of experience that's got me shaking my head

Reagan was great?? McClurkin wasn't a slap in the face of the GLBT community??

He's green and she's not. that's what it's coming down to for me. Unlike 2004 I'm not in love with any of them but she's a wonk and smart as hell and knows the ropes. He gives a pretty speech.

I'm caucasing for Edwards though, on 2/5

19. IF, and I do mean IF, there a race problem with Obama it because of
people like you hurling around charges of racism. You and your buds are costing him votes because you won't let it die.

Of course the fact that no one knows one day to the next what the guy stands for has a lot to do with it. But people like you who want to make excuses for Obama and make accusations against everyone who doesn't agree with you quite can't understand that, can you?

22. Jesse Jackson won a couple states in 1988. The party is READY
and has been since 1972, when Shirley Chisholm (a black WOMAN) won delegates to the national convention.

The party is ready for a black candidate, but maybe not the one who is currently on the ballot.

26. let's see how SC goes
Not winning another state is way to far to go.

If Edwards were not in this race things could easily be very different.

People tend to be for Hillary or against her.
