Caucus turnout over 107,000!!!!
Caucus turnout exceeds 100,000
By Sun Staff · January 19, 2008 · 1:42 PM

Sen. Harry Reid was largely derided when he suggested that the Democratic caucuses in Nevada — a state of apathetic voters — would pull in 100,000 voters.

Well, he was off a little.

This big announcement from the Nevada Democratic Party:

With 84 percent of the precincts reporting we are seeing record turnout with more than 107,000 caucus attendees.

This is why Hillary won. A massive turnout would swamp the culinary union. It actually happened.

6. With 78% of the vote in....
... 33,960 voters voted in the Nevada Republican Caucus/Straw Poll.

So, turnout not so good for the Republicans in Nevada. :-)

3. That is fantastic.
And just last night the Las Vegas papers weren't thinking they'd hit the 100,000 goal set by Nevada Dems when they made the move to be Third in the Nation.

We're definitely an enthusiastic party this year. :-)

9. For perspective, Kerry got 397,000 votes in 2004 general election
So 100,000, while an excellent number for a caucus, is still a small fraction of what will be needed in the fall.
