Is There a Source for the Speculation that Condi Rice is Under Consideration for GOP VP?
My companion yelled at me as he was leaving the house that there was talk this morning on TV about McCain or someone considering Condi as VP?

Is this real? Does anyone know about this?

I figured it was obvious that McCain would pick Lieberman?

And smoke to this fire about Condi? Or just idle chatter?

3. Condi works as VP against either Obama or Clinton
But Im thinking the GOP believes it will be Hillary.

Condi not only removes the female aspect as a reason to vote for Hillary, she actually removes the experience argument Hillary has been (ab)using, especially if she's paired with McCain.

2. I think McCain would be a genius if he named Joe Lieberman as running mate
using some pretext like a national unity ticket. Assuming McCain wins the nomination, and that's a big if.

9. I expect it to happen. I'll stake my reputation on it.
Karl Rove, who likes Lieberman and helped his campaign in Connecticut, would be besides himself and Fox News would go orgasmic.

Still, I wish I could find if the Condi story is just speculation or is there any "there" there.

7. As much as I believe that Rice was a failure in all of her
positions I think she would be an asset as a VP. She would be a counter balance to either Obama or Clinton.

8. And why will Clinton get stomped if the ineffective Condi is selected?
She has done zilch...she's the epitome of "the mushroom cloud" which never existed. If the dems cannot dilute her impact, then they are way too gracious for the world of politics.

10. Here's one.

Vice President Condoleezza Rice?

By Kathleen Parker
Saturday, January 19, 2008

snip

Alas, Condi Rice is a Republican and she's still not running for president. That hasn't stopped Crystal Dueker, a 50-something volunteer
from North Dakota, and Rich Holt, a 20-something African-American attorney from Pennsylvania, from trying to make Condi run.

They have changed their goal since the fall, however, from president to vice president Rice. Dueker, communications director for
the 527 group she formed, "Think Condi," travels around the country at her own expense in a van covered with Condi stickers.

Her luck ran thin when she was focused on the Oval Office, principally because Rice wasn't running. No problem. Dueker simply adapted.

12. Condi makes sense
Especially if Huck or Mitt get the nomination. She provides balance and foreign policy experience. I have no idea how she'd be on the trail, though.

Lieberman is a better pick for McCain, though. The pick makes McCain seem like he's his own man and reinforces his maverick image by picking an "independent" (nudge nudge, wink wink) to balance his ticket.
