Listen Hillary...
http://www.listenhillary.org/article.php?list=type&type=115

In September 2007, Hillary Clinton announced via her campaign web site that the number one reason to support her for President was “To end the war in Iraq.”

What’s the difference between “war” and “occupation”? Hillary would “end” the war by drawing down the number of combat troops in Iraq, but would continue the U.S. occupation with a limited number of troops, ideally around 50,000, on “enduring” (but not “permanent”) bases to train Iraqi troops, to provide support to the Kurds, and to protect American interests, including the all-important oil fields.

As we have seen from her recent vote on the Kyl-Lieberman amendment on Iran , Hillary plans to have a muscular foreign policy. Bombing Iran is on the table, the continued occupation of Iraq is in the game plan, and corporate interests trump international law.

Such idiots! Everyone knows that you only get true political change by sitting on your ass and sneering at those who act on their beliefs.

Good on you -- you're the real agent of change! I see a job at MSNBC in your future.

4. do you really think code pink "brings political change"?
they make the anti war movement look like a bunch of whackjobs and do more harm to their cause than good.

IMO.

8. and you are doing......? what exactly?
what are you doing to stop the war? Are you involved in the anti-war movement in some way?

if you're not, don't worry about how she makes the movement look. If you are, then shame on you for attacking someone trying to make a difference.

IMHO.

12. well, I was thinking about jumping up and down and screaming
but that seemed like a waste of time.

So then I joined DU and PI, and now I spend most of my time blaming Democrats for not stopping the war.

14. In other words, you don't do shit
except piss on people who have far more courage than you could ever conceive of having.

You may be too much of an authoritarian kiss-ass to stand up to anyone, but please show a little fucking respect to those who are doing the heavy lifting for you.

15. one thing I don't do, jpgraz
is justify myself to people like you.

You know absolutely nothing about me - what I've done, where I've been, what my political convinctions are - outside of the fact that I think Code Pink's actions hurt their cause more than help it...

Everything else you post regarding me on this issue is the usual kid stuff that is your stock in trade on this board.

7. actually, the 14 bases are already permanent.
the "bush's palace" embassy, larger and more fortified than the Vatican, is permanent.
The truth is, any presence at all continues the war, because it continues the occupation of one invading soveriegn nation in a more powerful presence than the host sovereign nation. As long as that continues, war will continue.

anyone arguing for a continued "presence" is playing fast and loose with semantics.
