Who are you supporting for Emperor/Empress?
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 05:52 PM by John Q. Citizen
Yes, it's time to face the facts. America is the most powerful empire the world has ever known. We have garrisons spread through out the world, we influence our allies and our enemies through economic and military coercion, and we have successfully exported our culture and language around the world.

While you will never hear this from our media and while most will certainly continue to deny this to ourselves, I have absolutely no doubt at all that future historians will refer to us as an empire, and honestly so.

I personally would prefer a wise and just emperor/empress as opposed to stupid and brutal one.

But who is the wisest and most just?

6. I really wish people would educate themselves on IL politics before making fools of themselves.
Present is a way to say you support the overall bill, but there is something bad in the bill that needs removed/corrected/etc (poison pill-like stuff). By voting present, you're making a statement and not saying you disagree with the core premise of the bill. Therefore, when push comes to shove - they can't say you voted against it.

10. llionois politics? I was born & raised in Cook County and have a Great Uncle who helped
throw the election for Kennedy. I know Chicago and Illinois politics, and Rezko's the tip o' the iceberg.

11. Good for you, I was raised in Springfield, where it's front page every day.
So then you'll agree then that this is fact, about "present" voting.

12. I appreciate the sentiment behind voting present under certain circumstances, however --
IMO, he overused (abused?) this technique. Surely you'll concede he voted "Present" MUCH more frequently than his cohorts. Why? They weren't ALL votes on birth-control.

America is finaly ready for a Queen!

A king or a queen... as long as they wear the blue robe of the dem I will try to be happy.

But give me Edwards and I know it wouldn't be too hard to be happy.

5. I prefer a Marcus Aurelius type.
The question is if the "emperor" actually runs anything in this empire anymore. In this administration we saw a "Christian" emperor think it would be a grand idea to let a mercenary army, who's logo is the mark of a beast (blackwater) to go and torture people in the area historically known as "Babylon". The pieces don't particularly add up!!!

7. All empires wage war and wage it frequently. I expect the same from the next emperor/es.
Don't you?
