1. I'd say about the same
Same fight, different faces (except for Edwards and Kucinich, of course)

5. God willing there will be a reprieve until 2016.
Unless Kucinich decides that he can't have too much of a good thing and continues his already six year long presidential campaign through a Democratic administration.

4. you ain't seen nothin' yet -
We're starting a bit earlier this time, and there's already a lot of polarization going on. I suspect it will be at least as bad, probably a bit worse. Especially since there's definitely going to be a change of regime as the incumbent ass is not able to keep it's seat by sliding by on party inertia and dirty tricks.

6. This is way worse than 2004. There was a 30-strikes-and-you're-out rule back then.

They really need to bring it back.

11. Along with the "timeouts"
that worked real well in settling people down at least a bit. I it did for me for, well, 24 hours!

8. lol
Yeah, they'd send operatives to a message board where 96% of people don't change their mind.

14. Thanks for stirring up the shit

2004 was much worse at the start, but then it got more heavily moderated into good behavior. The mods aren't kicking people around so much this time, in part because it's not as bad. The bickering this year is just tiresome and predictable.

Dignified political campaign = oxymoron.

18. The same.
We tend to romanticize or catastrophize the past, but really I don't see one iota of difference. It was shameful then, it's shameful now - but just like back then, you'll be surprised how fast people fall in line behind the nominee once he/she is chosen. And how quickly the warring candidates themselves will kiss and make up, and concentrate on beating the common enemy. Won't be a moment too soon, either.
