do americans turn off americans from politics?
so imagine your looking to get into politics, wanna read up on it. So you go google "democratic whatever" and you come up on a site called democraticunderground. Oh cool you think, lots of politically minded private citizens who understand politics. Ill learn alot.

then you start reading all the crap. all the false accusations. all the lies and deciets.

wow you think to yourself. are politics really this horrid? I see all these accusations and counter accusations. If i try to sort this out i will spend all day on the net.

maybe ill go watch a football game instead

are the people in the really heated flamewars why the majority of americans not like politics.

1. Yes, politics is really this horrible.
I think it does turn off a lot of talented people. DU is not the only place that
political mud is thrown. It's everywhere.

7. I think DU has just the right mix of of Intelligence, Feisty-ness and Heart.
If everybody on this forum thought 100 percent alike...I would waste my time here..
