Speaking for six South Carolina voters (of which I am one)
I can report to you that the last time we were all together (last Wednesday), the votes looked like this:

Clinton - 2
Obama - 3
Edwards - 1

We all had dinner tonight and discussed last night's debate, which was largely responsible for the new voting preferences, which are:

Clinton - 0
Obama - 0
Edwards - 6

We're ready for Saturday.

(And before anyone derides this little unofficial "caucus" as unscientific and perhaps unrepresentative, let me concede the point. I just think it's interesting.)

37. It's sad that he is being ignored by the press
what I can't understand is he has the experience of Hillary and he would make a better President. SO why do people pick Hillary insted of John?

43. He has to be amazing,
he did not have to say anything because he wasn't the one
being attacked.

If people can't see that, then they are bigger fools than
I give them credit for.

I would have done the same, stay out and let them hurt each
other, when they're through, then score quick points.

How easy can that be, anyone if us could have done that.

POLITICS is a dirty game.

I sympathize with Obamas back...lot of holes on there.

I'M I MY BROTHERS KEEPER

Doesn't exist, died with the great MLK.

Good for you.

The one person who supported Edwards before the debate should puff out his or her chest!

Now get out and vote on Saturday!

Edwards will come in a close second and Hillary in third.

I called Hillary third in Iowa and I call her third in SC.

If I'm right do I win any door prizes?

32. What nonsense
You are advocating for Edwards, that is what you are doing. AND IF YOU are advocating for Edwards who was PLAYING Mr nice guy during the debate, there will be others who will be advocating for Obama and win them over etc.
With all the Union support Edwards has had in NH and NV he still only had 4% of the vote in NV.
You actually think based on a debate performance that YOU are spinning to your family in Edwards favor is indicative of what the electorate is doing. Some people saw Edwards as the winner but still said they would vote for Obama.

41. No anger
You are pretending in your post that these people(family) just changed their vote after the debate , then in another post you say you are trying to convince people to vote for Flip-flopper Edwards...that is advocating, and I am saying if you are advocating to change peoples votes to Edwards based on what YOU saw a the debate, others are advocating for a change from Edwards to Obama because of what THEY saw in the debate.
By the way you have every right to advocate for Edwards.

45. And why, pray tell, are we seeing this so much?
"Some people saw Edwards as the winner but still said they would vote for Obama." (or Clinton in other instances post-debate)

People see him in the debate, they like his message, they like him and think he was the winner, yet they are going to vote for someone else.

22. It's hard to tell, beyond my small sample of friends.
But I can tell you that several people I know are still undecided; most of them were disgusted with the childish antics of Clinton/Obama last night, so I'm doing all I can to encourage them to vote for Edwards.

Two of them are my aunt and uncle, who are both in their 60s. My uncle is a lifetime Democrat who was leaning toward Obama last week but then went back to undecided, and my aunt is a Republican who defected from that party in 2004 and voted for Kerry. She's committed to vote Dem this year. I'm waiting to hear from them (hopefully tonight) about where they stand at this point.

really.. the Clinton Machine is going to crush either of these candidates the minute they are seen to be a threat. We should be helping each other, not snarking each other. JE and Obama have been civil. We should do the same. :hi:

46. Gaiilon, do you really think you're influencing people to vote for Obama here with your nasty,
unprovocated attacks? I've posted with you in defense of Obama on numerous occasions. But you have to find a common denomiator at some point and settle on it. Not everyone is going to vote for Obama. And you'd be better off to try to hedge the vote away from HRC.

33. Edwards was indeed the best last night
but that wasn't saying much with the two other clowns on stage.

I am glad JE acted civil. He clearly won that debate and looked and acted the most presidential.

A few days ago I vowed to act and remain positive and be in full support with all of the DEM nominees despite my dislike for some of them. I fully intended to vote for the DEM nominee but Obama and Clinton are ruining the image of the party and their circus act is making us DEMS look like nutbags again.
