Wouldn't it be fun to sneak a peek at Rudy Giuliani's internal polls in Florida?
I'm not sure why FL GOP primary voters liked Fred Thompson -- it could be kind of a necrophilia thing -- but now that Thompson is officially out of the race, I'm not seeing many of his supporters flocking to Rudy.

Anyone have any thoughts, premonitions, prognostications, or breakthrough epiphanies on Giuliani's last stand in the Sunshine State?

1. I'm predicting a dismal 3rd for Rudy
McCain's already up 10 points on him and I predict Grampa Fred's voters will be going that way. It'll be McCain 45%, Mittens 30%, Rudy 15%, and Ron Paul bringing up the rear. Hell, Paul might even beat 911iani there.

5. Shit! I forgot about Hucky!
I knew I was missing someone but I couldn't remember who. Senior moment, I guess. So now I have to revise. Here goes:

McCain 40%

Mittens 25

Huckles 22

911iani 7

Paul 5

Everone else with the remaining percent.

Paul to edge him out!

10. That would be sweeeet!
I've despised Rudy for a long time. I can't think of a finer exit for him. Pwned by Ron Paul!

9. Hi, rurallib. Well, Fred's not doing very well these days on the campaign
trail. I assume funeral announcements will be in the papers in the next day or so...

I'm really not a fan of Giuliani and hope Florida voters will bury him alive down there.

6. Thanks Old Crusoe for changing the subject.
Good for Edwards to do so during the debate. However, the hostility between Obamaites and Hillaryites is over whelming. It's damn hard to change the subject. But thanks for trying. I was going to do the same thing but got distracted/burned up in the flames around here. I'll keep trying...but I get so damn emotional sometimes and fall into the hateful crap stuff :grr: up to my neck. I hate myself sometimes :spank: and wish I could stay out of the fray. My bad! :spank: You good!

Oh yeah...IMHO Giuliani is going down in flames...unless we have another terrorist attack between now and when he runs out of money. And I think Thompson's vote will go to McCain. Dammit! McCain is going to be the most difficult of all the candidates to beat. I personally hope the Huck wins...easiest to beat. Too damn crazy religious for this electorate.
Nite-nite!

7. Hi, Auntie Bush. Good post -- I agree that Giuliani is in big, big trouble
down in Florida.

Also agree that Huckabee would be so wayward and putrid that we could whip him a lot more easily than McCain.

Still, I'm ready to take McCain on. He'll have to defend a lifetime of far-right votes in a year when Change is on folks' minds.

11. I'm literally shitting kittens over McCain being the nominee
I was talking to a Democrat recently who told me, with a straight face, that McCain is "decent on social issues". :wtf: He should not be underestimated.

17. He's got a voting record
that tells otherwise. 86% rating from the ACU. It just hasn't been talked about yet but will be if he's the nominee.

24. You are not kidding! After the Rethugs and our fellow Obanaites
get through pillaging Hillary for the next year she will be totally trashed and everyone just so fed up with the horrible gossip that they will vote for McCain and get away from it all...even if it means harsher cuts on public funding of schools and other social funding, 3 conservative SC Justices and deadlock again with a divided government/congress. I hate to think of such a thing. HORRORS!

My three siblings and now two of my children who were going to vote for Hillary are already saying they like that straight shooter the media always raves about and plan on voting for him. I'm just sick!

Fred Thompson AND the 9-11 victims.

I hope he's toast after FL. :puke:

12. If Giuliani does not win handily in Florida against such a weak GOP field --
and I'm talkin' WEAK -- it seems to fair to say it would be a repudiation of his person as opposed to his politics, in addition to the repudiation of his politics.

It would be a wipe-out. It would be a case of voters in a relatively Giuliani-friendly state saying, "We don't hold your 9/11 role all that high, even though some of the 9/11 terrorists trained in a couple of Florida's airfields before moving on to Logan; we don't care much for your wife's animal torturing, although we have dog tracks on both coasts; we don't like what you are saying much or how you're saying it; we voted in large numbers for Dubya but we don't like your amplication of his foreign policy; and we don't care if you cleaned up Times Square or not because we don't live there and Disney World draws more tourist bucks annually anyway."

18. He and Romney are the only folks campaigning in my area.
I've been seeing Rudy's politics of fear ads for months, and just recently started seeing Romney's "hi, I'm the pretty one" ads.

Oh, wait...the Ron Paul blimp was here for a day during the Tampa Bay Bucs game. Otherwise, nada.

23. The St. Pete Times endorsed Obama in the primaries.

They'll announce their Republican "choice" soon, they say. I haven't seen the Trib say anything yet.

25. Thank you, flvegan. It will be interesting to see how things unfold with
those endorsements.

I know that St. Petersburg's mayor, Rick Baker, ran Jeb Bush's campaign against Lawton Chiles. Close election, but Chiles whupped 'em.

I always try to pay attention to Pinellas and Hillsborough voting patterns. Damned interesting region of the country, IMO.

20. Magic Rat, I absolutely love that prediction.
Giuliani is a frightening individual, IMO. Rough-edged, raw, unchallenged, territorial, lizard-like, uncerebral. A mean-spirited mediocrity from the word go.
