Can we try not to diminish some of the great things BC did JUST
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 11:46 PM by sjdnb
because he's been put in the historically unprecedented position of supporting his wife's candidacy and might be a little awkward with that?

He saved us from eight years of consistent GOP domestic/foreign policy disasters at great personal expense (where were all you moralistic freaks when JFK was banging everything in a skirt?).

He left a huge surplus, kept the peace, saved a whole bunch of folks in Kosovo, stopped a potential nuclear exchange on July 4, 1999 between India and Pakistan - while overseeing the US celebration and acting if everything was cool, and oversaw the greatest economic expansion ever - and more.

He is human and, as such, flawed, but well intentioned and intelligent enough to have done a lot of good for the country, while in office.

8. Agreed NAFTA did not turn out as expected .. but, then again
neither did the "Globalization" bandwagon almost everyone was more than willing to jump on pre-2000.

It's all related --- BC and others tried to make the best of what they knew was coming. In some cases they failed.

But, then again, Bill Clinton chose Al Gore as his running mate ... why do you think that was?

Personally, I think it was because BC is, at times, an extraordinary visionary. And, no matter what the press might say about their relationship, I believe, to this day --- Bill knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He just didn't count on the courts/Florida f'ing everything up, so royally.

6. AMEN
its absolutely terrible that this campaign has come to campaigning against the guy when he is supposed to be our modern beacon of what the presidency SHOULD be (of course in contrast to Reagan and Bushes), of course without triangulation, but that really only mattered on the bullsh1t issues.
