Why does Rupert Murdoch (Fox) support Hillary Clinton?
Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox news, just loves Hillary Clinton according to this CBS article.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/05/09/politics/main1600694.shtml

Why would that be?

1. Can you read? The answer is right in your linked May '06 "news" story:

"They have a respectful and cordial relationship. He has respect for the work she has done on behalf of New York. I wouldn't say it was illustrative of a close ongoing relationship. It is not like they are dining out together."

4. Just answer the question please, cursing isn't necessary. Fox wants Hillary for a reason.
What's the reason?

20. Rezko's a repuke scam. Check the indictment, Fitzgerald and St. Eves will discredit Obama for GE
GE has a lot of money to lose, if Obama becomes president and America pulls out of Iraq.

GE is also NBC, by the way.

2. My Australian friend says that when Murdoch decides on a candidate,
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 07:52 AM by Art_from_Ark
that candidate usually wins, at least in Australia (where Murdoch controls a large proportion of the media market). He's betting that Hillary will be the next POTUS, and will be a little, um, cozy with Murdoch.

daily in NYC, so their mythical "support" is very questionable.

If Murdoch is attacking Hillary in NYC newspapers, who does he seem to be supporting?

And we'll end up with a repuke in office.
Either way, Murdoch wins with Hillary.

It's a familiar meme around here--Hillary and Rupert are carelessly revealing the secret conspiracy, but no one can figure this out except the conspiracy guys. Life is a comic book.

12. Secretly? Take a look at opensecrets.org, and it no longer looks like much of a secret.
They gave the Republicans money in 2000 and 2004, while giving a little less to the Democratic Party.
Now they're giving more to the Democratic Party.

The biggest contributors are the same financial lending institutions that control Wall Street.
This makes me think that Hillary is just a sideshow.

- he's used to it - he failed twice already. But he helped Ghouliani more - money AND praise. He wants a GOP-er to win and will do his best for that.

He thinks he can fool us into thinking that he is fair and balanced.

Murdoch doesn't care about politics or parties. He cares about money and ratings. He thinks he can get us to watch Fox News if he supports our candidates.

28. when did he give to her presidential campaign? Link?
You cite to an article that indicates murdoch supported clinton's re-election as Senator because he felt she had done a good job representing NY. Do you have a link for a contribution from him to her presidential campaign, because none shows up on opensecrets.

What does show up on opensecrets are, among other things, contributions from Peter Chernin, News Corps president and ceo, to the presidential campaigns of clinton, obama and dodd. Not that surprising -- its pretty common for folks at this level to cover their bases.

Now, are you going to acknowledge that your question has been answered or do you still enjoy playing the baseless innuendo game.

39. To sum it up,
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 08:40 AM by JTFrog
He basically said that if you're in the media business and you care about what's going on in the world then you are going to want to make a difference through your opinions. He says he believes that can't change the world completely but it can shape the agenda. He then admits he tried to shape public opinion on Iraq and that they supported the Bush agenda.

This was at the World Economic Forum.

Or at least he's in Turkey. I'm pretty sure he's elsewhere out here as well.
Yeah, that's logical. At least he's straitforward about his Napolean syndrome.
