Hillary draws 10,000 AND is ahead of Obama by 21 points in Arizona.
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 11:29 AM by pirhana
On the Democratic side, Clinton, a senator from New York, earned 45 percent support.

Her closest rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, trailed by 21 points with 24 percent support.
She has held a steady lead against Obama in major surveys of Arizona voters.

On the Republican side, McCain, Arizona’s senior U.S. senator, finished with 41 percent support. His nearest challenger, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, trailed by 23 points at 18 percent support.

This was not a match up.

She made a campaign appearance on just more than 24 hours notice, yet drew an estimated 10,000 people.

11. She is not beating McCain in Arizona, I don't know what the
poster is talking about. Last polls I saw showed McCain crushing her in AZ and beating her in about 35 other states.

30. There are Democrats here in AZ who will vote for Hillary in the primary and McCain in November
McCain will win this state easily.

35. I disagree as the dems in arizona see that mccain is coming
to an end of his career, and this would be the best way to let him know with the 08 election by voting for HRC and she wins the state. This would in effect give notice to mccain that his seat will be in play.....

37. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you don't live in AZ
I do, and have personally spoken with Democrats who are supporting Hillary in the primary and will cross over for Arizona's favorite son in the general. One woman I work with, a Democrat, thinks that McCain is, and I quote, "decent on social issues".

McCain is beating her in most national polls and will CRUSH her in Arizona.

25. It is the latino population
They will vote for her.

As for the turnout, just wanting to see the former first lady doesn't translate to votes.

But she will most likely win in AZ.

It was in October (I believe) when he was way behind nationally and it was a Tuesday afternoon.

14. That isn't "beating McCain." It's not a head-to-head. Let me
give an analogy as to how that tells us nothing.

Suppose we take a pool of fourth-graders, and give them two polls:

"1. Which do you like better: Pizza, Hot Dogs, or Chicken Nuggets?"
"2. Which do you like better: Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, or Cauliflower?"

Suppose Pizza is edging the first poll with 41%, and Broccoli is winning the second with 45%. Does that mean that fourth-graders necessarily prefer broccoli to pizza?

16. It was an overflow crowd, thousands left outside and noses up against windows to get a peek....
...young women, mostly.

I watched it on the local news in AZ last night.

Women and Latinos adore this woman. Looks good for her wherever those elements participate.
