Poll question: On A Scale Of 1-10, How Enthusiastic Will Your Support Be Of Edwards, If He's The Nominee
With a 10 being with all the enthusiasm I can muster.

and

With a 1 being, yeah, I'll vote for him and that's it.

11. Edwards has a Professional Blog Machine
in place. Whenever he puts out a poll he somehow magically has a huge majority.
In dKos, he gets people Troll Rated off for saying things like "Edwards has done nothing in
5 years except campaign for himself."
He's the Ross Perot of candidates.

13. Edwards has a Community of dedicated supporters
since the 2004 campaign. We know our way around the blogosphere, and most know us and support our positive messages.

Judging by your condescending tone, I'm sure you've felt the TR button at dkos :D

6. I'll put myself at an "8" for the moment.
He's not my first choice, but he's significantly better than the other two media-hyped candidates.

If Edwards gets into office and does what he says he'll do, that number would go to "12"

21. If he's nominated and elected, god willing, I think he will do what he says.
John Edwards seems passionately dedicated to building One America, and restoring economic fairness in this country. And fighting poverty effectively, and building a strong middle class. And he knows to do this he has to fight the same people he fought in court rooms for twenty years. Yes, it's true corporate power and corporate greed have an iron grip on our democracy. And we need a leader whose a fighter. And I think Edwards is telling the truth in wanting to fight this cause.

People often call him a phony. This is the same passionate message of standing up for the little guy he's held for all his public life. Yes, there has been an evolution in Edwards. I understand how he's changed in some regards. But it's not for the worse, it's for the better. And no one questions Al Gore's political evolution, they just see it as a great thing. And it is. John Edwards has matured and grown as a leader, and I personally like the positions he holds and the issues he wishes to champion in 2008! He's the most progressive top tier candidate we have!

7. I find it interesting
that Edwards appears to have a lot fewer 1 votes than the other two candidates. Personally, I could support him more than I could the other two, and gave him a 6. Whoever wins the nomination will NOT have an easy time of it. We need to make sure we also elect Democrats to Congress who will work with the new Democratic President, no matter who that turns out to be.

from the other two, which to my mind are not that different from each other.

12. If Edwards is the nominee my enthusiastic support will be
a 10, the same as for any Democratic nominee for President. Regardless who our nominee is, he/she is definitely a better choice than anyone the Republicans have in their field of candidates. I feel that it is imperative that we get Democrats in control of our country in this election cycle.

14. 8 sounds good. More like an 8+ or a 9- though.
I wish he had spent more time in the government. I'm not a fan of OTJ experience in the oval office. His is however, a good guy, and I believe he would be a good president.

I thought I read in another thread, someone said you weren't.

Just asking.

Why wouldn't you support Obama or Edwards?

23. No...I resigned from my local Democratic committee...
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 12:48 PM by SaveElmer
And consider myself an independent...

I won't do anything to enable a Republican win...but I won't guarantee to vote for the Democrat in all cases...and would consider a viable third party alternative...

And of course if I ever do support a third party candidate I would not advocate for them here...

31. While Hillary is popular in my area of the state...
The committee is dominated by Obama and Edwards supporters...and people who are more liberal than I am. It became pretty clear I as a Hillary supporter, and someone not in lock step 100% of the time with their views (only 90%)..that I was not particularly welcome...so I resigned

One of several reasons....

30. I Say 10 or Even More... But I Have Been Thinking That D.C. Is In Such
and the ANIMUS being shown Edwards by THE POWERS THAT BE in D.C. now, my feeling is that THEY will almost ANYTHING to make him look bad AND undermine him at the peril of this country!

Pretty cynical, huh?? But tell me how much have THEY been doing for YOU know?? They are taking days off here, and days off there for the NEXT THREE weeks, when the economy is TANKING, yet they need time off... FOR WHAT??

I ADMIRE this man so very very much and honestly believe if given HALF a chance he could do so much for this country! But, the deck is stacked against him, but John Edwards... you keep fighting, you have SUPER Loyal supporters here and all over!

Thank you for all you have been doing, you are an inspiration to me!!
