Random thought: Last week, when Obama accused Bill of callin'
his candidacy "a fairy tale," nobody told Obama to knock it off, nobody told him "You need to chill," nobody told him he was "splitting the party with devisive rhetoric." Maybe that's an example of having the press cover (temporarily) for you?

Obama supporters need to remember that if he's successful at stopping Hillary, the fawning press is suddenly going to grow teeth and tear him limb-by-limb. All those FOX News smiles will turn to daggers and they'll draw real blood.

Plus, as of this date, Obama has still not been vetted - why are we waiting? Should we to wait until he has the nomination to find the skeletons? But I do see there is more interest in this rezko stuff from major papers.....

1. Bill and Hillary haven't been vetted for post-Presidency things, either
Like, who is Jeffrey Epstein, and why did Bill Clinton has a personal and business relationship with such a despicable human being?

2. You're inspiring me. I think I'll follow your lead and start churning out
nasty meaningless Clinton threads.

5. Nope, he had his wife do it
Greeted by a standing ovation when (Michelle Obama) took the stage at the opening of the Trumpet Awards — an event celebrating black achievement — she went on to criticize anyone who would "dismiss this moment as an illusion, a fairy tale" in an obvious reference to comments made by Bill Clinton, the spouse of her husband's main rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, who used the term "fairy tale" to refer to Obama's characterization of his position on the Iraq war.

Barack is just pissed off that Bill packs a bigger punch than Michelle does. He thinks it's unfair.
Waaahhh.

15. Yes he did. He said OBAMA said Bill called his candidacy a "fairy tale." That's a lie.
As a matter of fact, Obama has addressed the line and said it exactly right-that Bill called his constant position of being against the war a "fairy tale."

16. Oh please. Like Hillary isn't credited with every word out of Bill's mouth
Or anyone remotely associated with her or her campaign, for that matter.

All of the spouses have been used to attack the other candidates. Big F'ing deal.

17. Did you not watch the last debate? When Obama accused Hillary of saying something, she replied
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 02:05 PM by jenmito
that she never said that, and then when Obama said her husband said it, her response was that her husband's not standing there-not taking "credit" for Bills words. The OP lied.

18. Whatever
The OP is not the first here to personify a campaign by the candidate him/herself. If it's a "lie," it's an awfully small and inconsequential one. His overall point is still valid. Obama AND his wife are not held to the same standard as Hillary and Bill.

4. What the FUCK are you talking about?
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 12:27 PM by Buzz Clik
Obama didn't accuse Bill of calling his proposed policy a "fair tale", Bill said it. I've heard the clips.

Don't try to turn the Clintons into victims here. They is are 24/7 attack mode with no letting up.

14. Let's be straight

Most of the concerns (not all but most) about how the Clinton Clinton campaign has unfairly characterized Obama in one or another negative ways refer to just that; the amorphous "Clinton Campaign". Sometimes it's a Clinton surragate who said something people think was below the belt, sometimes it is a known Clinton supporter, sometimes it is Clinton's spouse.

By that exact same standard the meme that Bill Clinton was dismissing the hopeful mesasage of Americqa's first very serious African American contender to become President as a "fairy tale" (by twisting his words) was pushed by "the Obama Campaign". It was packaged together with the meme that Hilary Clinton dissed Martin Luther King Jr. to undercut support for Hillary Clinton among Black voters. It was no accident, it was no mistake, it was conscious and intentional. It was hard ball politics.

7. He never said that
Why is that so many of you think that Obama's campaign doesn't think that the Republicans will throw everything they have at him? Why in the world would he not know this? Hillary can claim that she's tough and that she's survived but that doesn't mean she will survive this time.

Not everyone followed Bill's years in the White House that closely. Even though they went through it and nothing was found doesn't mean it still can't be used against them. Just like there are people who believe Obama is a secret muslim there are many people who will believe that the Clintons have escaped judgement.

10. It was Sharptonized that way - Mayor of Atlanta ran with that too
That entire campaign memo contained one fabrication after another. Truce was called - surrogates keep executing it. And then they whine: "they started it! They introduced race! I wanted to run as a "colorblind" candidate and they are spoiling it for me!
Mind you, before that memo was exposed on Huffington Post, I saw it's execution right here on DU. It was a Frenchie Cat thread - all in caps: "ATTENTION OBAMA SUPPORTERS! HERE'S WHAT THEY'RE PLANNING TO DO!"
Once caught, they retracted. But only Obama. Surrogates - still marching on.
