What time should I leave to go to the Edwards event in Lancaster today?
Not sure where else to put this. However, I just found out that John Edwards is speaking about 15 minutes away from where I'm at today and I'm going to skip school and head over to USC Lancaster just to be there. I'm not an Edwards supporter and have never been to an event like this before.

To all those that have gone to things like these in the past, how early should I get there?

1. If you want to be in the front row, 1 and 1/2 hours before he speaks, if you want to get in 45 min.

This is just my best guess. He has overfilled in the past.

2. I would get there early.
I would say at least 20 to 30 minutes before it starts to get good parking and a good view. Who knows you might get to meet him or ask a question.

I am jealous. I wish I could be there....

3. To get a good seat, you do have to arrive at least an hour before
and expect to wait a while -- 'cause they're never on time.

If you don't care about sitting up front, or can handle standing, you can arrive later. When I saw Edwards, it was standing room only and I got there 20 minutes a head of schedule. I lucked out though, and was able to stand off to the side very close to his stage, as did others. I hand to stand the whole 2 hours, though.

4. Heh... well the last time around, I supported Kucinich...
he stopped by at the the local peace center and it wasn't so crowded. I got a front-row seat!

For a top-tier candidate, I bet you have to get there pretty darn early.
