Have you noticed how the press now is starting to cover Rezco?
Hillary had to bring it up herself in the debate and now the press is giving a little coverage to it. Why didn't they cover this before? Were they protecting Obama?

And did I say Obama was guilty? No, but that isn't the point. The point is to bring this out now, see if there is anything to it, and then move on from there.

Bravo to Hillary for bringing this up.

Obama shouldn't get a free ride any longer and finally it appears to be ending in the press.

1. Rezko is going to trial on Feb 25th, so that is why he is in the news more.
It will be interesting if Obama has to go to court.

9. Why would he? The charges have nothing to do with Obama.
The only Democrat that might be a little hot under the collar over this is Blagojevich. The whole wire fraud scheme happened under his watch, when Rezko was appointed to the Teachers' Retirement System Board and the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board.

13. no one will shed a tear if blago goes
but that would mean a republican would take his place...the last republican governor is sitting in a federal prison in wisconsin and fitzgerald put him there! i think we have had just two governors in the last 30 years that has`t been indicted for something...

5. You can't depend on the MSM to vet the candidates the candidates are doing it themselves!
I don't know much about Rezco and would like to see on the MSM some discussion on the subject.

6. There was an AP story before she brought it up, just as there
were stories about the Hillary supporters in New Jersey and California who were crooks.

Brava to Hillary for smearing Obama instead of discussing the issues! It will come back to bite her.

8. It was good she brought it up
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 01:34 PM by goodgd_yall
What she said was an exaggeration of the truth, but 1) Barack opened himself up to it with the WalMart parry, and 2) it spurred a lot of people to look into what the Obama/Rezko connection was. The connection with Rezko wouldn't be so problematic, from my viewpoint, but for the theme of Obama being above doing things the "old" way (seeking the help of shady people)

11. Hey, the Clintons were involved in something called Whitewater, but nothing ever came of it.
Taint likely the press would unfairly pursue this Rezco story to falsely smear Obama, is it?

Why, our national media would NEVER do that kind of thing.

Remember how fast the New York (whore) Times and the Washington (whore) Post and all the (whore) networks immediately dropped the Whitewater story and profusely apologized to the Clintons as soon as it became certain -- way back in 1994 -- that they had done absolutley nothing wrong in that deal.

All Obama has to do is hope the press will treat him as fairly as it did Bill and Hill.

I wonder if the special prosecutor will find thongs in Michelle's Obama's underwear drawer?

12. this story was covered last year starting in april-may
it was covered locally, regionally and nationally.

the trial has nothing to do with obama. he is not the prime target of fitzgerald.

fitzgerald is going after rezko and from what i have read the governor of illinois. it`s no surprise to us that fitz is going after the governor and his democratic machine, we were expecting that. if fitzgerald finds anything that can lead to an indictment of obama then so be it. we are adults enough in illinois to deal with it. we`ll hold a special election and if the republicans can find a moderate then they get elected.
