To those posters employed by candidates or parties
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 02:55 PM by OzarkDem
While it would be nice if you would identify yourselves, as many do on other progressive political forums, can you at least enable your profile and make a donation to DU while you're here?

Thanks.

1. Hear, hear
I don't actually care if people identify themselves as ops - it's too easy to lie about it. I would like to see profiles not hidden and a star showing in support of DU.

2. What makes you think campaign ops would bother with DU...
How much influence do you imagine it has?

12. I've known personally of some campaigns
whose staffers regularly checked political forums and posted on them.

On DailyKos, there are many staffers and members of Congress who post there using their own names. The online political community gets a lot of attention these days from candidates and officeholders, which is a good thing.

3. It would be great if everyone enabled their profile.
I don't give much weight to comments from someone who can't be bothered filling it out. Peace, Kim

6. I think it would be honorable of them to say they are a paid and by whom.
at the least.

Say that they are paid - YES
Say by whom - YES
Name - optional (?)

It may leave them vulnerable on a nation wide / world wide venue. Being paid may be a contract that doesn't provide liability?

8. That's a wonderful sentiment...
...but it will never happen.

It's fairly evident who's who.

They're here to spin and disrupt. Paying in would constitute support and that's not their game.

I like checking the enabled profiles for a lot of the most egregious nutbars.

A boatload of 'em got a call in the first week of November last year. Funny, that.

11. I have noticed that out here in...
meatspace, those people who are most protective of their personal information are often the ones who refuse to get involved in any significant way.

They do talk a lot, though. So much that you could could actually be fooled into thinking they are important.
