BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards criticized rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday for leaving South Carolina in the run-up to the state's primary, saying residents should question whether the New York senator would return if she became president.

''After the debate she flew out and won't be back,'' Edwards told a crowd of about 150 people in this small town. ''What are the chances she's coming back when she's president of the United States?''

------------------------------

Edwards is clearly gunning for those voters who might be thinking Hillary is Dissing the South.

Given the proximity to Super Tuesday and the ability for the MSM to create momentum. He could finish second in several SOuthern States on 2/3 and get back in it by claiming Hillary has finished third as much as he.

He may be presenting himself as the altenative to Obama.

2. uh, not devastating at all
I'd like nothing better than to see Hillary get knocked out of the race, though, so I'm biased. :hi:

8. I am not sure if this would not be viewed as a massive failure of expectations.

7. Hillary will come in third in SC, and she knows it, which is why she already left the state.
Unfortunately, that means it won't make her drop out of the race, and spare the country any more of this shit. :evilfrown:

18. Ah, the meeting
They may have agreed to this. Really unexpected numbers could shake up Super Tuesday. Every little unexpected bit helps and they know it.
