Daily Howler on exchange between Obama and Hillary.........

Was that a faithful paraphrase of Obama’s statement? Different people will think different things. But Clinton was plainly referring to Statement 2—Obama’s remarks about “the last 10 or 15 years.” But uh-oh! When Obama answered, he acted as if she’d been talking about Statement 1—his statement about Ronald Reagan. In short order, Clinton interrupted, making an obvious point—she hadn’t discussed Ronald Reagan:
http://www.dailyhowler.com/

CLINTON: Barack—

OBAMA: Wait. No. Hillary, you just spoke.

CLINTON: I did not say anything about Ronald Reagan.

OBAMA: You just spoke for two minutes.

CLINTON: You said two things. You talked about admiring Ronald Reagan, and you talked about the ideas of the Republicans. I didn't talk about Reagan.

OBAMA: You just—Hillary, I'm sorry. You just—Hillary, we just had the tape. You just said that I complimented the Republican ideas. That is not true. What I said—and I will provide you with a quote—what I said was is that Ronald Reagan was a transformative political figure because he was able to get Democrats to vote against their economic interests to form a majority to push through their agenda, an agenda that I objected to. Because while I was working on those streets watching those folks see their jobs shift overseas, you were a corporate lawyer sitting on the board at Wal-Mart.

Slick! And that’s aimed at Obama.

1. Well since he said Republicans had ALL the ideas in the last 10 -15 years
I would construe that to include all the good ideas.

12. i find it somewhat surprising and disheartening that so many DUers
are this ignorant of politcal history and analysis of the rise of the repuke party and conservatism over the last 25 years. I think I'd prefer to believe that you all are being disingenuous and actually aren't so ignorant.

2. The Howler was bitching at Dowd for claiming that Hillary took Obama's words out of context.
Hillary did take Obama's words out of context and she changed them. It was purely dishonest.

In his eagerness to defend himself, Obama managed to fuse Bill's and Hillary's attacks into a single attack. That isn't slick or "playing dumb", it's part of the fog the settles in during a screaming match.

The Howler deserves a swift nut-kick for that one.

4. Oh give be a break!!!!!!!!!!!
If he cannot understand and comprehend what she was saying then there is a real problem, and it's not on her part.

8. On the contrary. Obama has been blasted time and again by both Clintons in stereo.
He's well within his rights to respond to both at the same time.

Calling it "playing dumb" or "slick" is simply cheap by the Howler.

6. The Howler is about the media - he is not in anyone's camp.
Did you even read it?

The comments about Tweety should give all Dems pause and Obama supporters.

9. Regardless of whose camp the Howler resides (if any), the comments were way off.

11. So let me get this straight..........
You are saying that Obama just wasn't listening to what Hillary was saying about his comments and therefore his answer was unintentionally misleading? Really, is that what you are saying? Because he clearly was trying to say that Hillary mentioned Reagan when in fact she was not talking about those comments in her statement.

should be disturbing to everyone, no matter who they support. It doesn't represent honest journalism and it doesn't even represent honest punditry.
