Let's Hit Back at the Media-
I’m so pissed; I can’t watch MSM at all anymore. We have surveyUSA out there –and no I don’t know who owns them but I’m sure someone here does – doing the bidding of the MSM, by not even including John Edwards in the head to head polling. How ridicules is this.

Even if you don’t support Edwards you must be able to see how wrong this is.

Here’s my question to all the lawyers on DU. How in the hell do we sue these people? Is there a way? Can we sue them for withholding information – evidence- form the American people? Can the plaintiff be the American people?

I’m ready to do just about anything, legal, I can do to get our voices heard. Need a plaintiff? Look no further than me. So let’s start a discussion here. Is there anything we can do beyond phone calls and e-mails? I’m fighting mad, and I want to hit someone. Why not the people who have been covering up the truth for so long?

I know there are many smart lawyers here, so educate me. Let’s put our thinking caps on.

Is there anything in the courts that we can hit these people on? Or are we reduced to a bunch of letter writing idiots, while our Democracy is being stolen?

Another letter writing campaign:

3. Just wait until either Hillary or Obama get the nomination! Watch how the M$M ignores either one.
I guess their supporters will care at that point. :argh: How much of Gore did we see in '00 or Kerry in '04? Just snippets and mostly on C-Span. It was all george all the time. Think it won't happen again? :silly:

5. I've been bitching and moaning here about this as the CENTRAL...
issue, the foundational issue - the corporatocracy's ownership of media - ever since I've been here.

It usually falls on deaf ears, and now that I'm an Edwards supporter, I'm accused of being a conspiracy theorist as an excuse for my candidate.

My point is the same as yours: ALL OF US, REGARDLESS OF CANDIDATE - regardless of ANY particular affiliation - should be very, very concerned that all press has become so manipulated.

My thoughts of late are to somehow approach it from a consumer standpoint. Do a blitz to consumer reporters and consumer advocacy groups, hoping a grassroots effort can take hold and build from there. I know many might be afraid to bite the hand that feeds them, but if only one or two ran with it...how the Bill O'Leilly's of the world get away with flat-out lies, for example - let alone the baised election coverage - it could take off.

If there's some sort of civil action to be taken, please count me in.

Believe me, I feel your pain. This has often made me physically ill.

6. It's probably too late for Edwards but for future elections, this needs too be addressed.
NOW!

7. I've just HAD it.
I'm hoping we can do more than just pull at their shirt sleeves. I want to hit these pukes that are steeling our country.

The walked us into a stupid impeachment of a sitting President, they walked us into a war, and now they are walking us into the nightmare that will be Decision 08.

I'm tired of America being led around by the nose.

By the way, do you know they have 300 reporters covering Britney, every single time she goes to court?

9. Hey, Rocky...
I most certainly haven't forgotten about this thread. As I try to get work done - in between checking in at DU...lol - I'm also researching and compiling some information and potential resources.

Perhaps we can all brainstorm some clever, unique ways to get some traction about this issue?

I'll come back to this thread tomorrow with what I've gathered.

(In the meantime, what a nice development that John's getting airtime, eh? But, as we know, this media issue isn't about John, and it isn't about dems and repubs...it's about all citizens getting hoodwinked and being "dumbed down" and lied to as our democracy slips into oblivion.)

:hi:

10. Thanks man, I'm putting together info on surveyUsa right now.
And putting on my thinking cap, but as always, it's a little tight on me.
