Nevada Clinton Campaign Instruction Sheet: "It's not illegal unless they tell you so."

Obama Camp Formally Protests Clinton Tactics in Nevada

Obama Camp Complains to Nevada Dems

WASHINGTON) — Barack Obama's presidential campaign complained in a letter to the Nevada Democratic Party Wednesday that rival Hillary Rodham Clinton benefited from numerous violations of party rules during the state's caucuses on Saturday

-snip-
The letter to Nevada Democratic Chairwoman Jill Derby from Obama lawyer Robert Bauer lists instances of early door closings, obstruction of voters, and improper handling of voter preference cards. Obama aides said the campaign has received more than 1,600 complaints, including 300 that came in to a hotline at the time of the caucuses.

Bauer said the campaign is not challenging the outcome of the caucuses at the precinct level, but he asked Derby to conduct an inquiry into the Clinton campaign tactics during the caucuses. The campaign offered to provide the names and contact information of the individuals making the complaints as well as unedited copies of their accounts.

-snip-
Attached to the Obama complaint was an instruction sheet that Bauer's letter attributed to the Clinton campaign. The sheet offers guidance on how to persuade caucus goers to caucus for Clinton.

One line states: "It's not illegal unless they tell you so."

"This certainly suggests that, for the Clinton campaign, the operative standard was, simply and only, what it could get away with," Bauer wrote.

2. Wow. She's a former first lady
she was leading in all the polls by double digits, she has a popular former President campaigning for her full time, she has all the advantages, and she can still only barely win by sending out deceptive mailings in New Hampshire and using dirty tricks in Nevada. How can anyone think this woman is electable?

12. Ding ding ding!
She should be 40 points ahead. She is the most famous, the most funded, and has a megastar husband.

She's like 20 points ahead in my Super Tuesday state. I predict it'll be whittled down to barely nothing by then because her supporters here are such obnoxious assholes. She'll squeak out a 2 to 4 percent win and they'll call it a "stunning upset!"

3. I watched the caucus on MSNBC i believe it was
how the how could anyone tell what was legal or illegal. It was my first time look at a caucus and i felt i was on planet neptoid or somewhere. Writing on cards, walking around with cards. Yeah loads of accountability at those things. Reminded me of Boss elections in Union halls. Totally out of control and prone to so much abuse and intimidation. Caucuses, you can have em.

6. I was at the caucuses and this move by Obama's campaign in nonsense.
I didn't observe any of the hogwash that Obama's campaign is drudging up here. My only issue is with the caucus process and how it disenfranchised so many Edwards supporters.

7. Edwards people were locked out too
I saw reports around here that Edwards people were told he wasn't viable so they needed to leave. Every site wasn't the same. Another DUer said his site in Reno was run extremely well. So it sounds like it all depends on the location.

8. I'd like some links to that.
Having lived and grown up here, I know plenty of people around the state and the city of Las Vegas. I have yet to talk to one who complains of these issues.

10. Here's one report
This one is objective, with no nefarious motives indicated. But it does show that there were an awful lot of problems.

Here's the page from the Clinton campaign that could be more straight-forward about the caucus rules.
