Edwards hits McCain on the Econonmy: "out here in the real world people are struggling"
Edited on Wed Jan-23-08 04:41 PM by jsamuel
We've seen what's happening here in South Carolina with the unemployment rate going up, 6,000 jobs lost last month, and then John McCain said just a few days ago that the economy actually is doing fine, that we're not headed into a recession, the fundamentals were strong and remain strong. He needs to come to Bennettsville and see what's actually happening in the real world - because out here in the real world people are struggling.

1. Good for him!
The economy has replaced Iraq as the number one issue Americans are concerned with today. This needs to be driven home over and over again.

Now if the media would only focus on our issues and concerns instead of personality politics, "gotcha" questioning, who has the most "star" power, and the American Idolization of our election process...

4. He's smart to frame the debate against the GOP well ahead of the GE

5. Good strategy, focusing on the GE
The DLC and news media don't want voters to focus on Edward's strength against GOP candidates. It ruins their whispering campaign that Edwards "can't win".

"Can't win" refers only to the primary because he isn't part of the DC Dem establishment machine.

The scary truth is that Clinton and Obama are both flawed candidates who face an uphill battle in the GE.

6. Republicans know McCain is weak on the economy.
That is why so many of them are voting for Romney.
