Clinton tactics against Obama are just like the Repugs against Gore and Kerry
I have not been supporting any of the current candidates.

But, having been active in both the 2000 and 2004 campaigns, I cannot but feel saddened by
the Clinton campaign methods against Obama.
It is like watching Rove at it all over again.
The general effort to push up the negatives.
The relentless efforts to create the "flip-flop" image even in the face of a consistent record.
The culling of any past vote or action that can be plausibly misconstrued and then the endless repetition of the
falsified scenario -- "if it is repeated so often it must be true" strategy.

I would be ashamed to be a Clinton activist entrapped into being a part of this "worst of the republicans" strategy.

Actually it's hard to judge which is the worst, then again...:wow: Kerry immediately swore his Endorsement power to Obama..........Yea, I get it now!

14. Yeah, Kerry took advantage of Gephardt and Dean attacking each other, to win Iowa.
Wait...that would make Edwards' campaign more like Kerry's!

Except we are way past Iowa.

2. I haven't seen anything to compare with GOP-style smear tactics yet
The attacks I've seen from all sides of our primary are safe as milk compared to what the Republicans are capable of.

4. Which is why I'm now a Obama Supporter.
I would have wanted Gore. I picked Biden... but when he dropped...

it was down to Edwards and Obama...

and the constant barrage of Rovian tactics and general level of slime being aimed at Obama from my fellow DUers clenched it for me. Obama!

Maybe a shallow reason to pick a candidate, but, well... there it is.

It was that whole lawsuit thing that really pushed me to Obama... and the constant, and I mean constant, excuses like "Hillary didn't file that lawsuit!" and "Why would Hillary want to keep people from voting" and my favorite "If those rank and file members of the culinary unions were so pissed off at being disenfranchised, why did they caucus for Hillary!"

That level of discourse and of tactics just turned me off so completely to Hillary... I have no idea what I will do if it's Hillary versus McCain or Romney. Huckabee... OK, I can't see having Huckabee... Same for Ghouliani!... But McCain? will I bother to go down to the polling station and do coin flips in the booth to decide? Or just skip it.

6. Could you explain Obama's (d) punjab comment last June?
Or is that issue too old?

9. I can. He was quoting her.
Not saying I like his having done it, but she referred to herself that way at a fundraiser.

10. But the NEIGHBORHOOD comment quoting Obama was racist?
This convoluted logic being used to support Obama in his dark hours is thread bare.

7. Horse Hockey
Obama is pandering to any group that can be pandered to. And pointing this out is just like the the Rethuglicans? It is painfully obvious that he and his campaign are rank amateurs. He is getting 3 times the press he deserves. I am willing to bet you. When the first shift gets here in about an hour, it will all be Clinton this Clinton that wah, wah ,wah......NOTHING about any of his accomplishments,,, why? he has none. Gore and Kerry are both pussies who chose to fold like a lawn chair in the face of adversity. I am sure all of the dead soldiers are glad Al took the moral high ground.

8. Think Nixon and the wooing of the Dixiecrats. Go back further in time.
It's a game that has been played for quite a while by Republicks and those who aspire to be like them.

11. I think all Obama supporters should be GLAD the Clintons, Edwards,
or any other Dem are pushing back at Barack right now. Don't you realize how mild their jabs are compared to what the Pubs will do in the General? THIS is exactly the kind of experience Barack doesn't have, and a successful national candidate HAS TO formulate how they are going to respond to things like that or they wont' survive!

12. The Big Dog has been hanging with the Bush Family too much

One thing that always impressed me about Bill Clinton was he was able to counter attacks without taking the low road. All that is gone.

13. I dared not bring up Rove's name
but I was thinking it. And yes, I agree. Attack the strength and turn it into a weakness. Many examples, but the most important, most destructive, and most painful in my view is turning Obama's message of inclusivity and unity into a race-based message of divisiveness. Words cannot describe how sick to the stomach that makes me feel.

Just like with Kerry and Gore, when Obama fought back all the sudden he's the one playing dirty.

Quite sad really.
