"If he can't handle Clinton's tactics, how will he handle the Republicans"?
I've seen several variations on that question, generally associated with applause for Clinton for her ability to play rough. The expectation is that the General election will be mired in the same dirt that Rove slung the last two elections. I don't see McCain acting that way. I don't know enough about Romney nor Huckabee to judge. In any case, here's how Obama will handle the Republicans after he is nominated:

Talk about ending the war in Iraq

Talk about reforming health care in the US to ensure that everyone has access

Talk about improving the economy

Talk about setting America on the path to energy independence

Talk about bringing Americans together to address our problems

17. What does that mean, finally? It's been pretty obvious for awhile
now.

2. Obama seems to be handling the Clinton attacks rather well
by not letting them go unanswered.

4. Bill and Hillary Clinton
are acting just as bad as Karl Rove e ever did, so he'll be in top form by the time the election season rolls around-I am very disappointed in the way the Clintons and their surrogates are acting in this quest for power

9. From what I've seen of his meetings with voters, Obama is talking
about issues at town meetings. Since his proposals are "old news", we tend to hear more about the latest attack and counter attack instead.

6. McCain won't have to.
Those ubiquitous "surrogates" will do the dirty work, attempting to bamboozle the "mushy middle".

8. The whole "obama we're putting you through this for your own good.
It's a tough world out there." has a tinge of condescension to it. It is like me being mean to my son and telling him that I'm only doing it to prepare him for the "real world".

Doing this to a child may be defensible. Treating an adult man (particularly one with enough on the ball to get elected to the Senate) this way seems much more questionable.

11. As I've posted elsewhere, it's also one of the prime self justifications
used by bullies and their enablers.

12. These are the GOP attacks they would use against him, but from the Clintons?
That surprised me. When Hillary brought up Rezko on Monday night, that was straight out of the Rove playbook!

Smear, distort, and sit back and watch them try to straighten out the lie!!

Straight out of Rove's playbook - how to swiftboat a Democratic candidate!
