Down & Dirty won't do it!
At one point before the last debate, I breathed a sigh of relief and realized that, although I have a candidate who
I'm rooting for, I could be happy and proud if any one of the three top candidates were nominated and elected.

Each is intelligent, diligent, dedicated, well-spoken, well-informed and eager to start righting the wrongs that have been perpetrated against this
country for 7 interminable years.

Then the sniping began. The candidates stopped zealously promoting their beliefs and shifted their focus, scratching and back-biting their opponents
to try and kick them down a notch or two. Dirty linen came out of the hampers and got hung up on the line. And on it goes, the fires constantly stoked
by the MSM who are eating it up, each day bringing another volley.*

C'mon, people. Are we willing to shoot ourselves in the foot, or feet, again?
Are we willing to lose the possible independent and Republican cross-over votes we may have garnered from staying above the fray, allowing them to vote on our
policies and not get side-tracked by the personalities involved?
Are the candidates so intent on polishing their own star that they can't tolerate any other star to shine in the sky?
If so, I hope to heaven that we're not in for another very long, very dark night.

*The main players (I must add for anyone who hasn't been following this) are the Clinton and Obama camps.

1. If
Edwards were in the running (and he may be yet), it'll be the Clinton and Edwards camps.

2. Hil and Barack are having a slap fight
On the other hand, we at DU prefer to play with knives.

We won't shoot ourselves in the foot. Most Democrats are NOT wasting their time whining on DU like us jackasses are. And within ten days of the candidate being selected -- no, make that FIVE -- we will come together into a mighty fist poised to smite the Republican Party for its depredations against our Democracy.

Count on it. The GOP is doomed, and we are the instrument of its destruction.
